December 11, 2008 - 3 Night Wonder

We missed the additional Nassau stop. We also went to bed right after the fireworks. I hope that family is ok. That would be horrible having a medical emergency away from home.

Has anyone heard from nikilee? I hope everything is ok.

YenSid1222 - Congratulations on rebooking onboard! I am jealous. My DH enjoyed the cruise and actually said he wanted to go on a longer one just not right now. So I took that as a good sign.

I loved our cabin on deck 5 forward. The location worked out very well for us. We did feel a lot of movement on the first night and the last night. For future reference, what was it like mid ship and aft on these nights?

SORRY I MISSED YOU!!!

they wouldnt let us board! :confused3 when we got to orlando 3 of us had a stomach bug and were vomiting. it only lasted a day and we were fine on the day of the cruise, i had no idea they would say we couldnt board! they made us wait in a room just next to the christmas tree as if we were in quaranteen, it was very upsetting for my kids and we were so looking foward to it.
anyway, we were allowed to rebook the cruise for dec 18th 4 nights,at an extra cost of $800 for the 2 rooms. and they gave the kids some mickey and minnie plush toys, and also we got free tickets to mickeys christmas party, because we thought we had tickets and it turned out we didnt and just had dinner reservations with no park entry. when we arrived again for the 4 night cruise we got upgraded again to a balconie room, room 6614 1nd 6612. all our stateroom gifts got delivered to a diff room on 2nd floor, as we got upgraded 3 times in the days befor the cruise! but it all worked out well in the end and my som had his 4th bday on board and they gave us another cake for free!:cheer2:

i am so sorry i missed you all, and gave away gifts to staff at the car rental place and a couple of waitresses who loved the chocolates from Britain, and the kids gifts i bought back home for my neices, i still have the british deodorant the i got for jensidd and dont mind posting it to him for his mum as he said she couldnt get it in the usa.

i hope you all enjoyed your trip regardless

now i have read everything, i am even more glad we swapped for the 4 night cruise because the weather was great and the sea was calm compared to what you went through. on the first night there was some rocking, but i quite liked it and didnt have any sea sickness.

we all enjoyed the cruise but my brother found it a bit too family orienated and didnt meet many single girls! i would do it again but my eldest daughter found it a bit babyish.
everytime i went to a show , my youngest started making alot of noise and i ended up leaveing. i saw bolt which was really good, but didnt get to go in the nightclubs, i guess i was full up after dinner and we went in the hot tub in the evening and were in bed at about 11 or 12 , the time flew by so fast and i was more tired and lazy by the end of the day than i expected.

i loved castaway cay , we all did, the sea was so calm. in nassau we went to cabbage beach and the sea was rough, my daughter prefered it but i didnt, i was scared she would drown but she's a dare devil! we didnt go to the market and get rum cake, headed strait to the beach , a few cocktails later and we returned and everything was shut! i wish i went there first but the cab drivers were like vultures and wouldnt let us walk anywhere they were competeing to get us to go in their cab, so we bartered untill one took all 7 of us for $18 instead of $28, i wanted to walk and see a bit of scenery but got pressured into thinking that walking was unheard of, even though it was a 3 min drive!

the day at sea was great and we did the palo brunch and cancelled our meal, it was lovely. i dont like seafood but loved the dessert buffet!

my 4 yr old loved the kids club but the 9 yr old didnt as much as i expected, i think because she missed the first night and didnt do the cooking. the dress up night was on day 2 and i thought it would be the last night, we were dressed casual and were half cut by the time we returned from nassau! we dressed up for the last evening as it was my sons bday but we didnt get pictures taken.

loved the upgrade! got upgraded from cat 12 to 11, then to cat 9 on deck 1, then cat 9 on deck 2, then finally got a balcony room 6614. :cheer2:

Due to bad weather our flight was delayed and we didn't get to board til after 3. Great that you got the 4 night instead and the great upgrade. You deserved it. Did you enjoy the Mickey's Christmas party. We went on the 14th.

I LOVED MICKEYS CHRISTMAS PARTY! we went on dec 12th, and had dinner with pooh and friends, the best meal of the whole holiday, we all loved it.

I regret not booking a car for 14 nights, we thought we'd save money by getting a car befor the cruise, and another one after, then of course we needed another car for 3 nights during the dec 11th cruise we didnt go on, so it cost a lot more, and needed another hotel for 3 nights. we could have got a disney hotel with no car, since we were going to hollywood studios and the mickeys party, and could use disney transport, but boyfriend insisted we get a car and a cheaper hotel, which i regret now because it worked out more expensive that way anyway  and we had all that driving up and down the 192, we didnt even go to the mall on those days so the car wasnt necessary because disney cruise said we could take the bus to and from the port for free anyway.

we prefered universal to disney because the rides were more thrilling and it was quite empty with no queues, everyone felt that the day at wet n wild was more fun than any theme park, so we've decided to just do aquatica and blizzard beach next time, skip the theme parks and do character meals instead so we can still see the characters. dont get me wrong, i still love disney, and would probably take my youngest 2 to animal kingdom because we didnt go there and it looks amazing especially the nemo show.

if anyone is coming to london i have a friend with a room in her 2 bed flat to rent, £65 per week:flower3: its not as nice as the orlando villas, they were huge compared to houses where we live! she rents a room to student teachers and does their laundry and breakfast, just an idea for if 2 people were coming to europe and wanted a few weeks in london for cheap, close to the tube in Ealing, west london, 25 mins from central london attractions.
