Dec 7th or 14th- which day to go to DL?

We're doing a 1 day trip on December and trying to decide on the date. It's between Tuesday, Dec 7th and Tuesday, Dec 14th.

Does anybody see any reason why one day would be better than the other? I'm allllllll about going when crowds are LOW.


I keep reading about a "Candlelight Processional.". What is that and would it impact either one of my dates?

Yay! You're going to make a holiday trip! (You mentioned that you were thinking of it over on the Christmas thread so I'm glad you decided to do it!)

The Candlelight Processional should not affect you, as that will be over after the first weekend in December.

I think you should go on December 7th. If you were talking about these same Tuesday options one year ago, I would have advised going on 12/14 to avoid being there on Cast Member party days (they usually have their own private parties on the two nights immediately following the Candlelight Processional, and Disneyland shuts down really early).

However, this year it seems that Disney has switched things around on us. We would have expected the CM parties to be on 12/6 and 12/7 - because they always have them right after the CP - but it appears they have moved the Cast Member party dates to 12/13 and 12/14 this year - which means Disneyland closes at 6 p.m. and that will limit the nighttime entertainment. Disneyland is especially beautiful at night during the holidays because everything is lit up in glorious colors (such as It's a Small World Holiday). I think that going on 12/7 will allow more time to take it all in, whereas DL will close at 6 p.m. on 12/14. By the time it gets truly dark on 12/14, it will almost be time for DL to close.

I was thinking the same as Sherry -- just hoping that the info doesn't change and they don't make it for the 7th after you make your plans. There has been some conflicting info that the dates on the calendar are a mistake and the CM parties are actually on the 6th & 7th; but it appears that may have just been a bit of bad CM info. If you go on the 7th you will get a much longer day since you only have 1 day there seeing as the parks close at 6 on the 14th.
