Dec 5-8 with the girls!

I am planning a weekend getaway with my 2 DD's. We are making this a quick, economical trip to see the decorations. I tried to book at the values or moderate resorts but they are full! Waht is going on that weekend that everything is full? I heard something about filming? is that the Christmas parade? Is it not worth going that weekend? Since it is only a weekend trip, I don't want it to be overly crowded-I go every year in Dec so am no stranger to the crowds.

I believe the parade taping is on the 6th, but I've heard hotels are pretty much booked solid the 1st 2 weeks of December. I'm going the 1st week, and touringplans still shows low crowd numbers, so I'm just keeping my fingers crossed.
