Anyone know why a Wednesday and Thursday at the beginning of December would be completely sold out everywhere? I was able to book a studio at BWV on the 5th and 6th but I am at my home resort (SSR) on the 3rd and 4th. Nothing is available any place else and I have been trying to switch since 7 months out. I am baffled as to how I could have gotten another resort on a Friday and Saturday but not in the middle of what is supposed to be one of the slowest weeks. :confused3

Two reasons: (a) December, entire month, is the highest demand DVC time of the year (DVC does not follow Disney in general patterns for slow and busy seasons) and thus finding anything at 7 months out is difficult; (b) always easier (year round) to find weekend higher point cost nights than weekday because huge numbers of DVC members do only Sun arrival/Friday departure and avoid higher cost Fri and Sat nights.

The first two weeks of December are VERY busy at DVC. Most of us who wish to travel during that time make our reservations 11 months out at our home resort. Since Wednesday and Thursday are the middle of the week, they will be the first to fill up too. This is less than 3 months out, so I wouldn't expect to have a studio available now.

The first few weeks of Dec are AWESOME. The parks are DEAD, the decorations are up, and the weather is nice and cool in the mornings warming up nicely by afternoon.

BY FAR THE BEST TIME OF YEAR TO GO.

I thought this would be the case too but I just switched to BWV on the 5th and 6th this past Monday. Maybe I just got lucky but I hoping the same happens with the other two days. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. :goodvibes

I have also just managed to get 2 nights at AKV savannah view from 11th Dec.:thumbsup2
Absolutely thrilled.

When is the DVC Annual meeting? Around then? And what about DisneyFest (or whatever that is called - when lots of Disney internet groups go to WDW)? That might be around the same time - I'm thinking it is usually in early December, too.

We used to go right after Thanksgiving, because as stated, the parks were DEAD. However, for the past few years, I have not found that to be true. We've changed our yearly trip to early November to take advantage of F&W. and a less crowded time of year than early December. My NEW favorite time of year to go, though is late January. Now, that's when the parks are dead! Weather can be "iffy" though.
