Dec 31st - Jan 7th 2012 -how bad?

The kids school doesn't start until the 10th, and these dates are available for us to get rewards tickets... We have been to WDW twice at dead times beg of Dec, and early Feb. How bad would this week be? I expect the 1st to be busy, but was hoping local school would be back early... any thoughts appreciated... I want to get rewards tickets asap...

Last year, Cali schools didn't start back until the following week either and there were reports of hoards of local kids. I wouldn't want to go during that timeframe.

Well, I guess we will find out, because I booked those dates. We will also be going to Legoland. I usually pull the kids from school because I was substitute teacher, but this upcoming year I can't as I am doing a yearly contract for a maternity leave. Thanks for the response.

I was there the first week of 2011 and I don't remember hoards of anyone, local kids or otherwise unless I'm blocking it out. Outside of NYE which is insane but totally worth it if you ahve the right attitude I don't think you'll have too much of a problem crowd wise.
