We REALLY want to see Grinchmas, but probably won't get into Florida until late Dec. 30.

Staying on-site for FOTL will be VERY expensive for us.

We do have the option of returning to Universal for a day in the 2nd week of January when should be less crowded, but Grinch will be gone.

Can we manage this reasonably? Can we see enough given the crowds and the cost? I guess we would have to race to Grinchmas at park opening. But after that? Can we still have a good time (4 kids 5yrs to 13 yrs and 2 adults) or will we be endlessly frustrated with the crowds?

Thank you for any advice.

We were at Universal Studios last year on December 31st (and Islands of Adventure on December 30). We didn't think either park was really crowded while we were there...at least compared to the Disney crowds that week. Universal studios was beginning to get more crowded in the late afternoon on Dec 31 --- which is around the time we left. We had also stayed off site. I don't know if crowd levels will be different this year with the addition of a the Royal Pacific Hotel.

it was very crowded on new years eve in the pm. you might have a window in the early am but the crowd level should increase as the day wears on. :smooth:
