January 1! Get there in the morning and it will be really slow because so many people have partied all night.

There is usually a NYE party at SW on the 31st with bands and fireworks etc. so might want to consider that. Crowds build as the day goes on. Takes forever to leave the park and parking lot at closing.

I want to go on 31 December for the park and on January 01, let to buy clothes. Malls and shops usually work on holiday?

In Orlando the malls and stores are open all the time so don't worry about that. We want people coming here spending their hard earned money so yes...they will be open on January 1st.

when my hubby and I went to WDW on Jan 1st...we got there at 9:30 am and they closed the park right after we go in (filled to capacity). SW might not be as busy...but be careful! the cast members said that Jan 1st is one of their busiest times of the year.

I was planning on buying our tickets in advance online. You mean if the park is full - we may not get in, even with tickets. I still haven't decided which day to go. Any other advice??

Most are open regular hours. Some might close an hour early.
