Had to get one in.

Sydney finally stopped vomiting this evening - she went 8 hours with no fluids down her. I called doctor because I had never seen her go that long without not able to take water, etc. and he suggested an OTC medicine for kids to help calm their stomachs. I think her sleeping for 2.5 hours before I gave her the medicine helped as well. It appears she's "better" but will have to be on a bland diet tomorrow and miss school/Christmas party. Oh well - its not like she's going to Disneyworld in a few days and can eat all kinds of goodies..

These people are now thinking we're crazy....

I have gotten 4 of my 6 packages still waiting on some stuff from Disney and an extra flash card, I don't know why I didn't send it rush, they always take so long getting it from the warehouse. I hate waiting for stuff to be delivered.

Someone sent Claudia this yesterday, I thought I would share.

'Twas the night before Christmas, and far out at sea
Our vessel was sailing, as smooth as could be

The stockings were hung from the balcony chairs
With hope that St. Nicholas would find them out there

The children were nestled all snug in their uppers
Having just settled down from a Christmas Eve supper

And ma and myself, we were covered in aloe
A bit too much sun, in a pool, warm and shallow

When up in the sky, there arose such a clatter
I leapt from my bed to see what was the matter

To the sliding glass door, I flew like a flash
Well, more like a saunter, and less like a dash

And what to my skeptical eyes should appear
But a great shiny sleigh, and eight flying reindeer

They circled our ship, from starboard to port
As the moon lit the driver, a jolly old sort

Who called to his team, in a happy retort
"Now Dasher, now Dancer," so on and so forth

We raced through our cabin and into the hall
To the very top deck, in time for us all

To be awed by the sight of Old Santa's sleigh
As he lightly touched down, by the midnight buffet

With a bundle of goodies thrown over his back
He rose in the air and dropped down the smokestack

Santa went straight to work, and later we learned
He found every child's cabin, from the bow to the stern

Insides and oceanviews, balconies and suites
Santa filled every stocking, with toys and with treats

Until all his deliveries had been handled with care
Then he noted he still had a minute to spare

So he surfed the wave rider, with nary a fall
While Dasher and Dancer scaled the rock-climbing wall

And Prancer, who had always been fond of the cold
Tried the ice-skating rink, a sight to behold

And then with a whistle, Santa summoned his team
And he bade us farewell, silent nights and sweet dreams

And I heard him exclaim, as he flew out of view
Merry Christmas to all, and to all, a good cruise.

Good morning everyone!

Messy roads here this morning. Kelly and Brian left for school, and Brian called me from his cell asking if they could turn around and come home. Kelly had the car in 4 wheel drive and only going about 20, but the roads were a sheet of ice and she was sliding all over. She was so nervous that she was shaking. I can't believe they didn't cancel school today. I called the school and told them that my kids tried, but weren't coming into school today. It's their last day anyway, and they usually don't do much.

We leave at 2 on Friday. We are supposed to get snow this week also. So far, Friday looks ok. If the weather looks like we won't be able to fly, we'll just get in the car and drive the 16 hours. No way I will miss this cruise!

I can finally finish packing today. Kids had their last band concert last night also, so I can wash and pack Brian's dress pants and dress shoes.

I'm sure I asked this before, but I have a problem with remembering anything, so what time is everyone getting to the port? I'll get there around 10:30. I want to know when to watch out for everyone arriving. I'll check out the pictures on Aislings site to try to memorize everyones faces.

We are on Christmas vacation! No work for 2 weeks.

I am unemployed for the first time in 30 years. I don't have to be back at work until 1-8-09, and that's only because I have to go to court. Oh well, I knew I should have retired last month.

he was for real. Last week in the link Brenda posted it was the story of the town he works for having a reduction in force for a period of time to save $500K to balance their budget. Smart city to actually make it balance in my mind, but sadly public services will really suffer when this happens. In the case of the police being short on shifts just means those working will be pressed hard for service. California state and it's local governments are having a really bad time with the economic down turns. That is a sad state since I think we as a state are as large as many countries.

Rus will be fine....as Nan said it's temporary & every city employ has to take a certain amount of 'hours' off (48 i think) without pay....i believe most of them can take a day here - a day there....something to that affect, but it's working out best for Rus to just take all of his at once since we have this long vaca already scheduled....
and he's only 1 of 2 crime inspectors so he HAS to go back to the force!!!!

Today & tomorrow Ryan & Jen do their ocean dives in Monterey then they are certified divers!!! can't wait to watch my little boy in the Epcot tank!!!

no where near finished packing...still waiting on 5 pkgs!!! but will pack what i can today / tomorrow then add the stuff as it arrives...monday & tuesday are crazy booked with 2 appts each day at noon & after work...nails...hair...pedicure...pick up wedding ring...so i guess my final packing day(s) will HAVE to be 12/23 & 12/24...

no where near finished packing...still waiting on 5 pkgs!!! but will pack what i can today / tomorrow then add the stuff as it arrives...monday & tuesday are crazy booked with 2 appts each day at noon & after work...nails...hair...pedicure...pick up wedding ring...so i guess my final packing day(s) will HAVE to be 12/23 & 12/24...

I called on my Disney package yesterday and was gratefuly told by the UPS supervisor that even though it showed in San Pablo, CA (1 hour away) it was really sitting in Indiana odd how the website updates on what the think will happen instead of what really is happening. I then conferenced in Disney shopping and they (again gratefully) refilled my order again and shipped it to AKL, overnight at no extra shipping charges. That was some as this package is tshirts for all 18 of our family for our dinner one night. I'll believe in the magic when I get to AKL and my package is waiting for me

ok, now packing today and wrapping gifts for the kids and finishing Willie's scrapbook, wish me luck
