Dec 27/08 NYE Western Cruise - Really New Thread

I hope this means everyone is out having a good time!

Tomorrow Brian starts Puppy Obedience Training for a 6-week course at Petco. I thought I could train him on my own, bought tons of books, but he still nips me when he wants to play! And I've started housebreaking him, well trying to, and he pees outside ok, but he won't poop until he gets back in the house! I have no other problems with him, but I want to start off correctly with him.

I had a nice lazy weekend. We got our Costco gift cards for booking the cruise thru them, and yesterday we did a huge shopping trip. I got 2 cards, one for $500 and the other one for $467, which was more than I thought I'd be entitled to. Hey, I'm not complaining. Sometimes being poor in math turns out to be a happy surprise for me.

Brenda, I wanted to ask you where you bought the beautiful shoes you wore on NYE. I love them, and I'd love to have a pair just like them.


Grim, I bought the AAA Travelling with Pets book, and there are a few places (campgrounds) that allow pets. I have to check and see if the one you mentioned is in there.

Will any of you be watching Obama's inaugueration (sp) on TV next week? I'm a news junkie, so I'll be watching.

This is so cute...Jesse said when he turns 21 (drinking age) he wants to go to Epcots Food & Wine Festival. I see I'll be enjoying WDW with my kids for years to come.

My 2 nephews are in WDW right now. They just ran the marathon there.

Us girls should plan to do the 5K someday there.

I love it that WDW is more than just rides and attractions and characters. There's so much going on there, truly something for everyone. I think Walt would be happy about that.

There's a big list of things I've never done there that I'd like to do:
The Food & Wine Festival
Soap Week
A Wishes Cruise
Horseback riding at Fort Wilderness
A Guided Tour of the Wilderness Lodge and the Animal Kingdom Lodge
The Hidden Mickey Hunt at the Wilderness Lodge
Fishing
and attractions like Jungle Cruise, Swiss Family Robinson TreeHouse, Soarin' ...I've never done these.

I would love to do an October trip someday, so that we could see both the Food and Wine and Mickey's Not so Scary.

It snowed here yesterday and they are calling for a little snow everyday this week. I'm so ready for spring.

Still finding it hard to adjust to real life? Here are some steps I've taken.

1. All of my employees are now know as Castmembers.
2. Make frequent trips to the grocery store and DMV to stand in line.
3. As we enter our dining room for dinner, Owen hands out antibacterial wipes.
4. Every Sunday is Pirate night.
5. Installed a Fish Extender outside my bedroom door.
6. Chocolates on the pillow every night.
7. I carry my Visa and Drivers license in a lanyard.
8. Have a Fun in the Sun dance party every day (Hey Baby.....)

Any other ideas?

Nan - forgot to tell ya - I found one of those shirts while we sat and sat and sat at the airport last Sat

cold here - about 24 about 2 inches of snow on the ground and we are heading into a deep freeze for the week - with snow predicted every day - bleah

That is the name of the new DISBoard for the cruise in 2010. There are already 108 people on the page for the cruise. Just booked a studio at Saratoga Springs for the Food and WHINE festival.

Silly me - I didn't look to see what she called the turtle picture

"Fred" was really thrasing around - then we were shown how to calm by stroking under their chin - just as we quit doing that - Fred wacked her a good one right across the face
