Hi everyone and welcome to the pretrip planning for my second shot at the mouse. I went in April 2006 and never saw the big guy, this trip, I am on a quest. Who am I you ask?:confused3 My name is Ty.
you can read my story Three decades of waiting and that will fill you in from DNA to present time:lmao:

I came home from A great Disney trip, my biggest disapointment was not seeing Mickey Mouse, he was around, but I have a bad habit of saying "I'll come back to this" and then it slips my mind. I also discovered during the film developing that I did not take enough pictures, so that there is 2 good reasons why I must go back.

My DH Kent agrees with me, only he said he will never go back again. Kent as wonderful as he is, is not a huge Disney fan, :sad2: He makes up for that in all other areas of life so that is why I allow him to keep being my husband :lmao:
My DS Jim 15 yrs, said he will pass on Disney as well.
My DD Reese 13 said she would go...maybe...I don't know...it depends...well I guess so... and that is where things stood for the longest time.

I asked my Mom and Dad who live in Michigan if they'd like to go
manpa.jpg

My Dad laughed, "geeze Ty, you just came back from a trip." My mom said "I have no desire to ever go, I wouldn't have fun."
I half expected that from them, so I then asked my older sister Bo.
sibss.jpg

sibbs.jpg

this picture was taken at national scrapbook day, we dressed up in scrubs and came as the critical care croppers, no it was not a costume party in any way, Bo and I just like to have fun.
I have a great time with her even if all we're are doing is grocery shopping. She lives in Michigan also, and we try to get together at least 4 times a year. But she doesn't really want to go, she suggests we rent a cabin on a lake and she'll bring her boat and we can ski and tube etc..etc.., and yes that sounds like fun, but we have a cabin and we have played those vacations out, and I'm not a big fan of flying over the top of water at 70 mph, she also suggests going to her summer place in Tawas and canoeing the river again. Yes fun, but it doesn't compare to Disney, I can go to our cabin anytime, and we can go to her place almost anytime. But Disney? That is a whole different world. So I thought ok, let's make it a sibling trip and invite our baby brother Matt
matt.jpg

Our parents adopted Matt when I was 16, he is now a student at the Michigan Institute of aeronautics. And a trip to disney with him would be a blast. I am extremely close to my siblings, we talk on the phone daily, what a great adventure would it be if the 3 of us went together.
sibs.jpg

Matt said he would be in the middle of his AP at the time and couldn't go for a few years, but count him in for later on in life. So then I thought we could ask Matt's girlfriend Loreal cause she's worth it, (if you didn't get the joke then you don't watch enough t.v.)
mattnlo.jpg

I can spell her name but when I say it, it comes out as Lorinell, so I have always called her Lola.
Lola has been in our lives for over 4 years now, she is Matt's first true love, so naturally Bo and I think of her as our little sister, and we have even taken her with us on our sister camping/canoe trips.
silly.jpg

this is us on a girls trip 2 years ago.

Lola is fun fun fun, she spent 6 weeks with me last summer, never a dull moment, always up for anything, but now she works at a law firm and goes to school full time, so she can't afford Disney for a couple years, that is when Bo backs out completely too.:sad1:

I didn't mind it being just Reese and I, but I wanted someone else to come too, the more the merrier, right?
So one day I am in my shop and out of the blue I ask my business partner, who also happens to be Reese's cougar cheerleading coach if she wanted to do a Disney trip in Dec. And she sais, "sure Coley has been wanting to go for a while now, we could go for her birthday."
Coley is a year older than Reese, they cheer on the same competition squad, but go to rival schools and cheer on opposing squads as well:cheer2: but they are good friends. so here is the cast of characters.

There is me
me.jpg

Hi, I'm Ty, cute and not to shy. I am in my 30's a fulltime wife and mother, I have a small silkscreening business with my friend. I love my dogs, all 3 of them and I tolerate our 2 cats. I got hooked on Disney my first trip in April 2006. I would sell my liver to get back there.

next is my DD Reese
mynewfavofme.jpg

She is the definition of teenager. I would give her my liver!! (but she would turn it down as it's not a name brand liver) she likes Disney, but is not a nut about it like me.

Then there is Coach T
coacht-2.jpg

I don't know why I was surprised she said yes to this Trip, she is always up for fun when time allows. Coach is a single mother, she works 3 jobs and still finds time to coach cheerleading. That is actually how we met, I was her daughters cheerleading coach and she was my daughters, we hit it off from day one, went and got our certifications together, she new me all but a month when she asked me to be her business partner and that is where TnT Silkscreening came in to play. Her older son, nicknamed Dirty pirate by his football team is leaving for college in the fall. She made it to all his games too.
So I think this lady is due for a vacation.

Last but certainly not least is coley
aliencole.jpg

I like Coley alot. She is quite moody though, but I call her moods fast and furious, when she is in a bad mood I can't stand to be around her, but her moods never last for too long, there is always something she finds fascinating or funny and completely forgets she was ever upset. She is up for fun at any cost. Sometimes when my kids are gone to the Dads for the summer, I will have Coley come over and we will scrapbook and just laugh till we cry. She is A disney newbie, well she did go once at the young age 0f 6 months, so it's safe to call her a newbie.
Reese and Coley are going to have a ball
coley.jpg

Lions vs. Wildcats (last game of the season)

So now you have the who,
the when is Dec 4th-11th, Coleys birthday is the 6th and mine is the 9th, so we will both have lots to celebrate.
the trip was booked New Years eve and I have been counting down the days since. We have a national cheerleading competition in Myrtle Beach June 1st, but once I am back I will be able to make my ADR's.

Anyone else going then let me know, we can compare notes, even if you're not going then, we can compare notes;)

OK, here I am for your next trip report. I can't wait to hear all about your planning and your trip. We love Disney, so I can totally relate! I used to get so upset about leaving....I would start getting sad the last few days of our trip. So now, it seems, I always have a trip "in the works." Ha ha.....

:)

jackdis welcome aboard! Glad to have someone here to share my planning with. I am so excited about going in Dec. I thought maybe it was too soon to start a pre trip report, but I had so much fun writing the Tr I just couldn't stop, plus having a pre trip going might help the time go a little faster.

Hi again! Can you post the link to your DD's trip report? I never finished reading her view on your last trip and can't seem to find it again.

Planning does help the time between trips go by faster...the DISboards help a lot with that, too!!! :)

I love your posting- you are so much fun:rotfl: I will be there at the same time and I will be there for my birthday too, how fun is that!

This is going to be so much fun, I cannot wait to read your plans.

jackdis I will get that link posted soon, I forgot how so I need DS to show me again.

IlovemythreeC's I can see from your ticker you will be celebrating your 36th, me too! Have you ever been in Dec before?
THis is going to be fun, we can count down the days together.

The subject of going to Disney came up last June, but we weren't even able to book the trip until Dec.

I remember clear as day, I could not sleep at all the night before, all we were going to do was book the trip, but that was enough for me, I had counted down the days just for that.
We had chosen the dates dec 5-11 to cover both birthdays, we later decided to leave the night before so we wouldn't have to wake up too early the next morning and worse yet miss out on even 1 minute of park time.

I met Coach at her house and then we along with Coley headed out to make our plans, Reese was still at my ex's house for Christmas break, otherwise she would have been with us too.

Coach wanted to use her agent at AAA, and I wanted to use mine at Boscovs, Coach, being the savy business lady that she is said we needed to pit the two against eachother and then go with the lowest price with the most perks, she also said not worry when she starts to ho humm and act like she was going to back out, just trust her because that is how she got such a great deal on her cruise the summer before.

We went to see her agent first. Now I had wanted to stay at Pop Century again and so did Reese and Coley, but Coach wanted to stay at the Wilderness Lodge, yes the place is beautiful, but I can't see spending so much money for a room that more than likely will be empty most of the day and half the night, I couldn't convince her of that, so I left it up to the bottom line, Coach likes luxory, but only at a value price, and even though this woman can sell ice to an Eskimo, I highly doubted she would get the price she was looking for... and I was right:woohoo: so pop it would be, and with Coach's AAA discount and extra perks, I knew it would be a waist to even visit my agent (sorry Ella) we booked and made our first payment that day.

I went and purchased the 2007 Birnbaum book which didn't differ much from the 2006 Birnbaum book, but it just felt like the Disney thing to do. I also purchased the unofficial guide to WDW, I almost bought the Disney for Dummies but put it back cause to quote Sissy Spacek in CoalMiners Daughter, "I may be ignorant, but I aint stupid." I even said it in that butcher Holler hillbilly twang.

So we are sitting at Borders flipping through the Disney books and sipping some long named coffee drink, I think it was a mocha choca latta yaya or something close to it :lmao: anyway, Coach anounced that she is leaving all the planning and ressie making up to me :scared1: <--- that is how I reacted, but what I was feeling was this---> :woohoo: but I play it all up like I really have my work cut out for me, I have the long and tedius job of planning 7 days of park visitation, dinner reservation, pause for relaxation cause I know our limitation (maybe sip some libation) then even more recreation before heading home to....civilization. It is alot of work to plan the best Disney vacation ever, but it's fun, and Coach knows I will enjoy every minute of it. So I of course appoint myself president of vacation planning for the 1st annual TnT Disney Extravaganza:dance3: and for the next year that is my signature for every Disney related e-mail I send her.:surfweb:
Even though TnT silkscreening is just the 2 of us plus our kids and one loving Ogre, we still have our annual company picinics and Christmas parties, we might be small but we play big:cool1: I am convinced that if we bring a screened T-shirt to Disney and discuss it with a second party, we could write the whole trip off as a business expense, but Coach, who also does our books does not think that is legal.

next chapter SCRAPBOOKING WITH TY

That is so true!

I have the long and tedius job of planning 7 days of park visitation, dinner reservation, pause for relaxation cause I know our limitation (maybe sip some libation) then even more recreation before heading home to....civilization.

That was...simply...amazing...

Your Pre-TR is great so far!! You're going to have such a great time!

Thanks for the link. I'm heading there now.

You have motivated me to start up with my scrapping again! I have so many Disney pictures to scrap. So many pictures, so little time......LOL....;)

Wow!!! Excellent start. :thumbsup2 I can't figure out how I didn't know before now that your name is Ty? I'm sure you must have said it. :confused3 Nice to meet ya Ty! ;)

That's one handsome 'little' brother you have and your sister is beautiful too and of course you and Reese obviously are adorable!! :goodvibes How cool that you managed to talk your partner and her DD into going - sounds like a lot of fun!!!

When I was planning our second trip I actually made a list of the things I wanted to do differently this time round. How about you? What are you gonna change on this trip? [Obviously other than the imperative meeting with the main mouse!!!]

Can't wait to read more Ty. popcorn::

:cool1: Yay! you started your pre-trippie! You had me crackin up already! I can't wait to hear all your adr's and such!:surfweb:

I'm so glad you started your pre-trip report :cool1: I loved the last trip report you did. I felt like I was right there with your family. Slippered feet and all :lmao:

Maybe you didn't know my name is Ty because I refer to me as "self"

Thank you for your nice comments about my siblings, they are so dear to me. And I will get a siblings trip sooner or later, even if I am 90!

This time around I plan to take in more shows, visit a few resorts, get a pair of mouse ears, watch a parade or two and take more pictures. And as God as my witness I WILL SEE MICKEY MOUSE!!!!

ILMICKEY alright! I got you here for my pre trip, welcome aboard. Please keep all hands and feet inside at all times and secure any loose articles, this is going to be a bumpy ride.

AGPrincess So glad you're joining me for my pre trip, I am loving yours.

Jackdis Get to scrappin!

dddisrunner I know this ia a bit early for a pre trip, but I had to keep writing somewhere, and I am so excited to go. Glad to have you here for this again.

CantWaitToGO2007 your user name sais it all. You can bet the slippers will be worn to the parks again and this time it won't be an accident, those things are so comfy.

When I came back from Disney, the first thing I did was turn in all my film, a few of the rolls I did one hour development so I could get started right away.

Let me welcome you to my sanctuary
scrap.jpg

This is just a corner of my scrapbook room, the most important corner as that is where I do all my work. I have a tiny portable DVD player set up in there because I like back ground noise, but not music, cause then I tend to dance and neglect my pages. you can see I have a little dog bed in there for my littles. Kiki and Falula. They love to be near the Mama.

I had plenty of stickers and diecuts to choose from, almost too many to the point of being over whelmed
stash.jpg

I did just fine, and I still have tons left over, (but that hasn't stopped me from buying more :rolleyes1)

I started out my introductory page in my Disney album
album.jpg

I did not purchase this album at Disney, they only sell toploads and I prefer the strap hinge.
On my introductory page I matted my confirmation letter and glued it down then journaled about how many years I have been waiting to go to Disney, the second page I matted and glued down the receipt and highlighted "paid in full" I included on a 2 page spread the van rental with the receipt and a picture of the van, and then a picture of the van packed and ready to go. I always have to include a travel page, this time I had a small map with Orlando, FL. circled for our destination. I also included pictures of the kids keeping busy, watching movies, reading, sleeping etc...

I did not take a picture of the big sign when you first drive onto Disney property, but I did get lots of pictures when entering into Pop Century, I love to scrapbook memorabilia, so I have the resort map in my album, other things I have put into it are, our room keys, napkins with the restaraunt logo, I put in a coaster from Coral Reef, receipts from post cards, fast passes, confetti from the parade, the list goes on. If I haven't already used acid free paper as a back ground I make sure to matte all my memorabilia onto acid free paper to keep it from eventually spreading to my pictures.

There is not a wrong way to scrapbook, that is what I love best, they are my memories and I can put them down any way I like. I can have a busy page with lots of pictures and stickers like this one I did from the Buzz LightYear ride
buz-1.jpg

Or I can focus on just one picture like this one where Reese is trying on the Goofy hat
goofy.jpg

one of my pages is so simply done, I just used one sticker and repeated the same word a couple different times, even without the journaling the idea is plain and simple, Kent was GRUMPY!
grumpy.jpg

Some of my friends couldn't believe I would do a page on how grumpy he was, but I had so many pictures of him with a sour look on his face it seemed funny to me.

I didn't take tons of pictures for RnR , just 4 and then the ride picture, it was a simple page, 3 with the outside of the ride and one inside, and the other page was just the ride picture, sometimes I feel like I didn't do enough on a page, but the saying is "simple pages complete albums" I try remember that and not sweat the small stuff, after all this album is more for me and my family to remember.
rnr.jpg

Sometimes I was not able to get a good quality picture, so in that case I used postcards and pictures both, my prime example is wishes
wishes-1.jpg

I chickened out and didn't bring my Cannon into the park, I thought it was too expensive and didn't want to risk it getting broken, the down side to that is my other camera does not take good night pictures, but I still think the page turned out o.k.

I had so much journaling but couldn't fit it all in on each page, so I gave a small bit of information on each page and then the last four pages of my album I journaled a detailed itinerary of each day.

I wanted to add the maps of each park and I did, but I also wanted to include maps of each park that could be taken out of the book and looked over, so I used the envelope info packet that was given to me at checkin, I cut off the flap and made it just a pocket that I glued to the inside back cover of my album, I also included in that our welcome letter and park info that we received for the week.
scrapbook.jpg

Even though I managed to fill 45 pages both front and back I left alot out, mostly because I had only one picture of it and it wasn't enough to carry a page, like I took a picture of Gepetto, but I never got pinnochio, so I left that out, I have purchased 2 albums for my next trip, plus the 7x7 album that I am going to pre decorate and use as my autograph book, I will post some of those pages after I have worked on it a bit.

so that is a peek into my Disney scrapbook. Thank you for letting me share.

Ty,
LOVED your scrapbook pages. Wonderful work!!!! I really need to set up a spot where I can always have my stuff out. That's what keeps me from doing it.....dragging it all out and then having to put it away again. I always say that if the stuff was all set up for me, I could easily do a page or two when I have a little free time instead of waiting for a bigger chunk of time to do more. Does that make sense??

Ty, I'm blown away by your scrapbooking skills. The word 'WOW' doesn't do it justice but I'll say it anyway cause it's all I have - WOW!!

:)

I am beyond impressed. I think scrapbooking is very much an American hobby. I had never heard of it before I visited U.S. forums. Obviously I've heard of people keeping a scrapbook but in no way to the extent that you've just illustrated. I had no idea you could buy scrapbooking merchandise. I'm so intrigued by it and would love to do it myself. Such wonderful treasures you are creating to pass on to future generations. Amazing!!!!!
