Hi everyone,

We are getting ready to go on our land and sea vacation. I can't wait -- get to WDW on Nov. 28th and leave on the Wonder on Dec. 2nd. It will be DH (38), DD (10) DS (7) DS(3) and me (DM 38). I have numerous lists, etc. But I am still confused about bringing food, drinks, and alcohol on board. The cruise docs say "NO Personal Coolers, etc." Does that prohibit bringing all food related items, so simply mean no coolers. I would really like to bring soda, juice, and some alcohol on board if it is allowed.

Thanks for your replies.

We always bring our own drinks. I drink a lot of bottled water, so on our 7 day cruises we usually have one suitcase that is full of beverages. (We live near the port, so we aren't flying which makes that easier!) I also bring a few snacks. They have never said anything to us about it.

Have a great trip!!:flower1:

You can bring your own food and beverages (you will be leaving them behind however, they can't reclear customs), just not in a cooler. Pack them in a carryon. They are also forbidden in checked luggage.

However, it is worth noting that if you intend to get to the port early, you'll have to lug that carryon until your room opens up (approximately 1:30). Soda is free on board - so unless you need something other than the standard Coke fare - I wouldn't bother. Juice will be free at meals (and the beverage station has lemonade). And the drink of the day is relatively cheap and tempting. For me, reasonably priced rum drinks, free pop, and lemondade make it not worth hauling my own beverages.

Hi BobbiB5, :wave2:

We will be on the same cruise. You can find some of your fellow cruisers on this thread:

As for bringing snacks for WDW: To save money on breakfast, I usually bake muffins at home and freeze them to take to WDW. I have also brought store bought muffins to WDW. It's just a little something to stave off hunger pangs just before hitting the parks or food court. I have also brought snack crackers and cheese, fruit roll ups, goldfish crackers, and things like that.

As for the ship, I never bring food or snacks. There is so much free food on the ship, you will never go hungry. Along with Topsiders Buffet, they have other areas near the pools that have hot dogs, pizza, other fast foods, and ice cream, all free. There is a drink station with pop, punch, etc. This is all included in your cruise.

Room service on the ship is free (just tip the guy a few bucks for bringing it to your stateroom - I usually tip at least $2 for one person and a dollar extra per each person who ordered). They have a nice selection -- lots of folks here like the cheese tray and I hear you can order Mickey bars from room service even though they are not listed on the menu -- there is a charge for pop, liquor, and water from room service, I believe. One of our favorite things to do is to fill out the breakfast card the night before, hang it on our door knob, and room service will deliver coffee, rolls, bagels, etc right to our stateroom at the time we specify.

Have fun on your trip!
Tink

Thanks for all your replies. I think I understand the rules now.

Tinkerbell -- thanks for the link to the other cruisers. I hadn't even thought about the fact that the Christmas decorations will be up on the ship. What fun!!

Well -- I need to get some work done before we leave. So-o-o back to researching on the web -- not nearly as much fun as the Disboards, but necessary!!

Thanks again!!

Bobbi
