Disneyland EE day– goal – Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, and part of Frontierland.
RIDES: 10 plus 1 extra Buzz lightyear…. For me
11 plus 1 extra Buzz lightyear for DS plus Starcade twice.
Parades- Christmas Fantasy Parade

This was our first day at Disneyland. I set the alarm for 5:30 thinking ½ hour would be enough time to get ready to meet the shuttle at 6:00 and be at the maingate at 6:30 for EE. I was wrong. Everyone took longer than I thought.. including me. Having to work around 4 other people slows a body down. We were still on time though and made it to the parking garage about 6:15am trouble was they don’t start parking cars till 6:30am. Then people were late to work so we weren’t parked till 7:15. We got to the maingate about 7:25am……trouble was.. My wallet had fallen out of my backpack into the back of the car! So I had to ride the tram back to the parking garage and get it. I got back and we were in line about 7:30am though… but we wasted a ½ hour. I was truly about to loose it at the point, wondering if I would ever see the Castle! We did though, at about 7:35 (the line moved quickly) we entered the maingate. One thing I didn’t know was that stroller rentals are now outside of Disneyland to the left if facing the maingates. It was ok though and my DS walked the entire day! Upon entering someone tried to get us to take a survey.. I didn’t know it was a survey till after a couple questions. What a horrible time to give a survey! So I told her we didn’t have time for it. And we headed to Fantasyland. I forget what happened but my DS and I were separated from our party…. Oh yes my Father had to use the bathroom. How frustrating, but DS and I went on to walk to Fantasyland, he loved the big tree and the presents, and walked along telling me he wanted to hold tinkerbell. It was his first time to Disneyland, and his eyes were so big, it was a great gift for myself to see him enjoy a place I am so fond of! I had originally planned to be in Fantasyland about 7:15 or so but we didn’t get there till about 7:45. My Father, Sister and niece caught up with us at the castle. We all went to Peterpan first, and my DS loved it, and I was thrilled that he did. Then DS, I, niece and Father rode Dumbo and my sister took picks. Then I, Niece, and Father went to ride Matterhorn (about 10min wait), while my Sister watched my DS and took him on the carousel, and The Tea Cups and Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride (he hated that ride it scared him). I came back to a dear one saying “no me go rides, scary dream” he was so upset he wouldn’t go into the bathroom at first because he thought it was a ride. So note to those with sensitive kiddos, either skip this one or take them yourselves.. I had planned to be on that one with him so I could do eye covers ;). Our party then separated. My sister, Father and niece went off to ride big rides somewhere. I had told them about fastpasses but they wouldn’t get with that program. So DS and I got them. I and my son then bought MickeyMouse ears, and used the restroom. He was then calmed down so we rode Pinoccio, Snowwhite, and Alice in Wonderland. Then we headed over to Tomorrowland, we ran into my family again around this time and got pictures with Ariel. Then split again, they went to eat, and I went and got fastpasses for Space with DS’s and My tickets so I could ride it later. We then rode Buzz (20min wait, but seemed shorter), and Astroorbitor (10min wait). Then got 2 fastpasses for Buzz, because he loved that ride. Then headed back to Fantasyland, where the others met me at Storybook Canal boats. My niece got to help “pilot” the boat, she sat up where the lady sits… so cute. We all then went over to Frontierland about 11:30 to get food for the Billy Hill and the Hillbillies show but they were all full. The next show was at 1:30 and we would have to be in line at 12:45 for seats. So we got food and ate, and didn’t worry about it the fish and chips were barely edible and a near waste of $$. I sat with my DS while he finished a cookie, while the others left for more rides. DS and I then headed to the Reindeer Roundup and saw the Reindeer, got our first character picture, with Pluto. (My son I found out is pretty shy around characters and was just saying the dog’s tongue is sticking out.) at the Reindeer Roundup area he cut some paper from the crafts they had their, and we listened to some music and watched a game they were playing with the kids (he was too shy to go up). Chip, Dale and Pluto were there also. He did manage to get a sticker because I called the lady, who was passing them out, over to give him one.
We then met up with my family again and Sister, niece and I tried to ride Space but it was shut down, my Father was watching my DS and took him into the starcade. My sister and I did some shopping, I got some ornaments, and then took the shuttle back to the hotel about 1:30pm for a break. In looking at my schedule I had missed out on Billy Hill and the Hillbillies, Innoventions (which I figured I might skip anyway, and Honey I shrunk the Audience (which wasn’t one of my top priorities), and Casey Jr. Circus Train (which I then planned to ride on Thursday).
I thought Josiah might nap but he didn’t, so we left early and went right back to Disneyland, I rented a stroller this time (for free using my Disney Visa). We got back about 3:15 or so I think. Things get a bit fuzzy from here but I think we used my Buzz fastpass. Then headed to the Small world to get a seat for the Parade. We were earlier than my schedule but the area was packed. A nice lady moved her stroller so we could sit. And then we waited about an hour for the parade to start. I am glad I headed over early or I wouldn't have found such a great seat. I took ton of pictures of the “A Christmas Fantasy Parade”. And my DS who had never seen a parade was totally enthralled. He did good sitting that long also, with other kids nearby and allowing him to run in circles every little while right in front of me helped. After the parade we went right to It’s a Small World. They seemed to have some technical trouble, but I had packed my DS’s sippy cup and some snacks so he ate in line and we saw the special lighting a few times, as well as the on the hour “show”. After It’s a Small World I had to find our stroller.. good thing I tied my red scarf too it. I think a thin scarf is a must have for me anyway. So many uses and small space. I would hook it to the stroller, or to the backpack after we returned the stroller, and I could have used it to tie to DS, but he seemed to stay by me pretty well. Course with an itinerary and all it was easier to just focus on him. We then met up with my family again and my Father took DS to the starcade again while my Sister, and niece and I rode the new, improved Space Mountain. My favorite ride just got better , and I bought the 5x7. I think DS and I headed back around this time, it is hard to remember. He did tip the stroller over a few times, the worst was when we were on our way out of the park and stopped at the Kodak Photo Center for our photo with Ariel, everyone in the shop gasped. But he was ok. DS and I got the car from the parking garage, and proceeded to get lost for about an hour! DS fell asleep, but we finally got to the Hotel and DS woke. DS and I went swimming when we got there, even though it was late (about 8:30). My Father and Niece Joined us about 9:00pm and then we got out and up to the room and I had more of my Pizza and tucked DS into bed… about 9:30 or so.

what a packed day ! Sounds like your DS has the required stamina to be a park commando ;), you must have been proud!

I was truely amazed at him this day, he walked the entire time! I did keep a close eye on him.. for tiredness etc. But no meltdowns, or fussiness to warrant a stricter break.. SO WHOHO :).
The only bummer about the trip is that our party was split up most of the time, as my sister, niece and father are not early risers, and my DS and I are.
Next time I am taking DH with both the boys, but goign to wait till they are tall enough to go on all the rides with us ;)
