I'll be trying to post a quick live report every day. We arrived yesterday and will be here until 12/19.
Cast= Me (mom), DH and DS 4. We are staying at the Contemporary, Tower MK view.
We arrived in Orlando yesterday Sat 12/12 around 3:45 PM. We had no wait at Magical Express. The reception area was empty. It was great. We were the last stop so we didn;t get to the CR until around 5:30PM. we checked in and I got my room request...A high floor with an odd numbered room (odd numbered rooms have the beds facing the MK, so you can lay in bed and watch the castle change colors). The agent checking me in looked at me like I was crazy for such a strange request.
Our room is great! I love the view! And it is true...I can lay in bed and see the castle! A big thumbs up to the experts in the CR thread!
After check in we went straight to the Contempo Cafe for a quick meal. I had a burger...I was so hungry I didn't even look at it and when I was half way thru I noticed it was WAY WAY too pink in the middle. I mean PINK/RED almost .So, I stoppped eating it. By that time I was mostly full so I finished my other food. Then later I took the burger to the manager and showed him...he apologized and offered me another meal. I said no. I'm hoping I don;t get sick. I still feel fine.
We then went over to the MK around 7 PM . We walked there via the MK walkway which is great. It is definitely the best way to go if not too tired. It took us 10 minutes. The MK was PACkED...JAMMMED with people. Main street looks beautiful with all of the decoratins. We took a bunch of photopass pics on main street!. Then we walked around Tomorrowland. I love TL at night! I love the lights! We rode the TTA..(.love that ride)...the new soundtrack is a bit like advertisements but it doesn't bother me too much. There was actually about a 10 min line to get on. Then we did CoP. We got stuck on the last show and saw it twice! Yikes!
Then we strolled over to Frontierland to grab a spot for the 9PM Spectro parade. It was PACKED there too. Wow, the crowds were crazy. (The original plan was to ride during the first Spectro and see the 11PM one, but we were fading fast, so we suffered through the crowds.) It was great though. I love Spectro Magic!
After the parade we FOUGHT our way out of the park. We were really too tired to fight the crowds and find a spot for the Wishes so we walked back to the CR. It was crazy trying to get out of the park...sheeesh...it was nuts. The fireworks started while we were on the trail but we actually got to our room in time to see quite a bit of the show from our balcony.
So, that was our first night here. next post.......Operation Dumbo.........
