Day 3
Had another fantastic breakfast at the hotel and the girls were really getting settled into the routine of things.
On the way back to the lift Goofy was waiting to pose for photos and nobody was around. Unfortunately the girls were still too timid to go and have their photo with him so we just stood and waved!
A quick run up to the room to put on all the warm weather gear and we were off.
Took a leisurely stroll towards the village stopping to have photos by the Christmas tree outside the HNY and then again by the tree and pile of presents with the seat just at the start of the village.
When we reached the park - to be honest we did pretty much the same as we had done on Day 2. Straight to Fantasyland on every ride open. Wed hired 2 strollers today as Maisie wanted to sit down rather than stand on the back of Bronwyns so this actually meant we could zoom around the park at great speed while they had their snacks of croissants and choc bread. It was only our 2nd day in the park but we felt like old hands in Fantasyland!
While Steve took the girls on IASW I went and got tickets for the Lion King show and I had just collected them when they came to meet me. We then went on Buzz (my favourite) and I whipped Steves a*se with my excellent score, which is very rare for me to beat him at anything. Obviously I like the ride even more now!
We went back and had another ride on IASW as with 2 toddlers you can never go on this enough and after this it was time to queue for Lion King. We got fantastic seats in the centre and I was quite excited. However, even thought I knew Maisie didnt like loud noises I thought she would enjoy it better than she did. She hated Scar and sat with her fingers in her ears while Bronwyn (aged 2.99999) sat opened mouthed in awe. It was a fantastic show and I loved it. Afterwards Maisie said it had been too noisy and she didnt like Scar. Bronwyn just kept saying I liked it didnt I Mummy ..but not Maisie If I heard this once I heard it a million times. Kids eh!
We caught the train to Frontierland, which was great, and then just happened to drop on the queue starting for Mickeys Winter Wonderland. After a short wait the barriers dropped and we were seated in the middle just a few rows back. I was a little worried watching 2 shows so close to each other and wondered if Maisie would like this one but I neednt have worried. This was a fantastic show and the girls absolutely loved it. Maisie did keep asking if Mickey Mouse was real. I said he was (of course!) and she asked why he couldnt speak. I said but he is and hes singing but she replied but Mummy his mouth doesnt move! My god shes 4 years old will she be telling me theres no such thing as Santa next because if she does Ill cry! (I still believe!) By the way, how they present them in duel languages is very clever
After the show we had quick stroll around Frontierland but realised there wasnt a great deal to do for their age group and many things were closed due to the weather. We had lunch - sorry cant remember the name food isnt a big thing for us we eat when were hungry and thats about as much thought we give it. Anyway, we had a pizza and then we caught the train back and got off at Main Street.
Had a stroll around the arcades and a couple of the shops. Maisie and I had our picture taken with Minnie Mouse but Bronwyn had fallen asleep so she missed that one. When Brownyn woke up we had another go on Buzz I lost by the way and then as people were starting to take their places for the parade (which wed watched the evening before) we decided to catch another go on Dumbo while the queue was short.
As it was getting towards tea time we took a leisurely stroll towards pirates of the Caribbean and as myself and Steve had been on this in Florida we decided to give it a whirl. We entered the cave (nice and warm by the way) and expected to meet the queue but we kept walking and walking and eventually we reached the boat! There were three people on a boat and we got on the seat behind. We set off and I thought ooh this is nice. I kept explaining to the girls that the pirates would be plastic and not real so they wouldnt be frightened when all of a sudden the boat started going uphill. I completely freaked and grabbed Steves arm. You see what goes up must come down and I dont do down! Also what on earth would the girls think. I started laughing which is what I do when I think Im going to die (long story another thread!) but when we reached the top and then splashed down I can not tell you how relieved I was that it was only a small drop. The girls were Ok but I could tell they werent that keen. We enjoyed the rest of the ride and then we had the final drop. We all screamed and I did enjoy it but I dont think Maisie was too keen. Still no tears but when I asked if they wanted to do it again they both shouted no!
We walked home through the arcades and we bought some baguettes and choc chip cookies from one of the stores and headed back to the hotel. We ate in our room and then the girls had a bath which they loved as we only have a large shower at home and then they were asleep by 7pm as they were shattered. I read for while and Steve did some revision as he had an exam to take just after Christmas.
What a fantastic day!
