i would like to reserve this stroller from aug 26th - sep 1st. do i put the request in this thread or in the royal carriage thread?

I'm interested in dates 5/9 - 5/14. We will be staying at the Dolphin on 5/9 and then moving to Animal Kingdom Villas for the rest of the stay. Please let me know!

Is the double stroller available Mar 1 -8th 2009??
No, I am sorry but 3LoveBugs has it through March 7. If you want, you can PM 3lovebugs to see exactly when she can give it up. You may be able to use it the 7th and 8th? just let me know.

I would be interested in April 9-16. Is this for the new stroller?

Thanks,
Bettie Ann
Got you down. Welcome Bettie Ann
I have 2 children, boys 8 & 10. The stroller is for another family that is meeting us. They have 4 children. 3mos, 15mos, 3 years 3 mos, and 7. The 3 smallest are all born in sept within a few days of each other. They have there hands full. They are all great kids though. This is our 5th trip and there 1st trip.
:thumbsup2
Ijust wanted to answer her before she saw that part of her dates were used and moved on to another swap. Want to get the new stroller paid off for you Debra!

Good question. I will PM Parkers*momma to see how to handle this. I went ahead and put your name down here just in case though.

HI guys. I just found the budget board and I love it. I'm so cheap (or is the term frugal). Anyways, I have two older kids, one about 45" and 55 lbs and the other 48" and 60 lbs. We're not going to disney until December. I'm worried about how they'll hold up to all the walking and wanted to find a better solution but my hubby thinks they are too old for a stroller. What do you guys think that have used this stroller? Also, its hard to tell from the picture but is there a divider in it? Just wondering if we could use it for one kid at a time and they could spread out to the whole stroller?

Hello, There is a divider in the stroller making it two seats instead of one. All kids get tired of walking in the parks at some point or another. Studios is pretty small walking wise so most older kids can tolerate that park without a stroller. However EPCOT is the largest and most spread out and most kids will get tired before the end of the day. Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom are somewhere in the middle.

Walking in Disney can be as much as 5-10 miles a day. Can your children tolerate that much activity?

My kids are 2,6,6,8,&9 and we also took our 9 year old niece our last trip. the two 9 year olds wanted to ride in teh stroller just as much as the 6 year olds did.

Also, consider what all you intend to bring into the parks with you. If you are like me I bring water bottles, ponchos, camera, video camera, snacks, autograph books, daily planner, cell phones, etc. Having a stroller is nice just to put all our 'junk'.

Hope that helps. Let me know if you are interested in December.

Thanks,
Debra

Uncle.Jr - I think I just got your payment. Are you Ms Benes?

Lessing, Welcome Back. Please tell us how your vacation was!!

To everyone who has sent their payment in recently thank you so much. This really takes a lot of the burden off me. To everyone who has not sent in your payment please do so or at least let me know if it is on the way. I have to have this money back in savings before my husband notices it being gone. :lmao:

I am at a scrapbook retreat this weekend but have only done 6 pages since last night

Thanks for your advice. You bring up some good points. I would like to go ahead and arrange for the swap for December. I was confused though since it says it's switching to the Royal Carriage Swap #5 in June. Is this stroller different than the other royal carriage swaps cause it seems to have a higher weight limit. Just wondering cause we're staying at the All Star Music but if this stroller is indeed higher weight limit then we want it instead of the one that is based at All Star Music. Oh, and our dates are Dec 17-24. Thanks!

"switching to the RC#5" Simply means that after June 14 I will no longer organize it but rather parkers*mamma from the royal carriage thread will organizie it. For now I will be keeping up with all the dates and managing all of the money. We have the same type stroller as the royal carriages, but since ours is brand new it is a newer model and whatever changes they made.

What this means to you is that you should follow this thread for updates until June. Then you will need to follow the Royal Carriage thread for updates after that. I would recommend checking each on a weekly basis until the fall then perhaps checking twice or more weekly. that way you will know who to contact in regards to picking up/dropping off the stroller.

Good observation about it handling more weight. I think that is great because most of the swappers have bigger kids. :thumbsup2

I went ahead and added you to our list. Like I said, I will hand off the list to parkers*mamma in June so you will already be on there. I will PM you with payment info.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Debra

Thanks Debra. It looks like from reading around that I can't get/send pm's until I have 10 posts so I'm trying to get those done. I feel bad cluttering up the boards. :goodvibes

I had to clutter too. So go ahead, everyone is really understanding. I just got my ten.

The stroller and the trip were great. My family and I had a great time. My 6 month old and my 40" tall just turned 4 year old were very comfortable. The rip between the seats unfortunately was open again, but it really did not affect anything. There is a screw there, but my 4 year old who is awkward and in and out of the stroller every five minutes did not even notice it. I did not stitch it up because i had limited thread in my travel kit. To repair permanently, it needs a denim path underneath or a wrap of cardboard. If a new stroller is on the way, maybe the first person builing it can wrap some flat cardboard not the corrugated kind around that point and throw some packing tape on it, it rubs when the stroller is folded and unfolded, and will happen on the new one as well. I removed the metal shelf from the one seat and fashioned an identiacal repair to the seat internally with the paint sticks from epcot kidcot masks like a previous user did to the other seat and whip stiched both seat tops shut. I could have done a nicer job with an aphosltry needle, but we did not bring one. The stroller is in good shape now.

The seats break because the inside is fiberboard and the seat back catch on the sun shade when folding. The seat backs need to be upright and past the sunshade before folding or this will happen again, including the new stroller.

overall the stroller was great. I had to load in the back door on the old busses with steps, because it does not fit past the 5th seat in the isle, but it fit just fine on the new busses without steps. At one or two park entrances and our room at pop, you have to make a turn while passing the threshold and the stroller fits fine, but it will not roll straight through. It does fit everywhere we went though, and i did not have to take the 6 month old out to pass gates or enter the room.

Thank you all for participating, this is a great thing. I saw many a frustrated parent with the new rental strollers. They are smaller, especially the double, and the rentals are not a depressed well like they were before, the seat has very little sides to them. This makes it almost impossible to make an infant comfortable in them by padding around them because there is nothing to hold blankets or jackets in place.

It was record cold for the week we were there and it rained and the rain cover is amazing. It completely watertights the stroller and in the cold when we lifted the cover to get the kids, you could feel the temperature difference inside as compared to outside. We were stopped by many oarents asking where we got it and probably gave the disboards several new members.

On a chilly and sometimes wet week. this stroller made the difference of our having a great time compared to a wet and miserable one. Thank you all again.

We passed the stroller off face to face with the next group on the list, and got it from luggage services on our arrival. Luggage services did not find it at first, but i told them it was the stroller with a shelf strapped to it and they found it easily.

Lessing, Welcome Home and thank you so much for your report. If I remember correctly, the original tear was caused because a user was getting on the bus with the stroller and the bus driver closed the door on them. So hopefully we wont need reinforcements along the bar. Oh, and also it is a slightly newer version of the same model so let's see what the designers learned the first time around.

Thanks for the info on how the back seats broke and thank you so much for repairing the other side. It still seems odd though that we had the same stroller as other swaps and they haven't had the same amount of trouble that we did. I wonder if we just got a bad one?

My neighbor went last week also and said the parks were more crowded than they had planned for. She also commented on the record cold. Brrrr, I can't imagine being at Disney in my winter coat?

Debra

Sorry I missed this yesterday. And since we added more swappers I had to take off some icons because it only lets me post 25 smilies in a single post
