Well, it depends! We have a debit card that gives us 1.5% cash back, so we use it often. Now that WalMart doesn't take it (and the commissary never did allow use to use it on the credit option) we use the Chrysler Rewards card, which is credit. The "cashback" isn't as much, but it all goes toward my Sebring. :teeth:

I never, ever use the debit card when it's out of my sight - in a restuarant or online. My bank has protection, but I don't want to deal with it after my bank account has been wiped out! Much easier to deal with charges on the credit card.

And I also have a debit card for Paypal, which I use for shipping and supplies. That way everything from eBay is completely separate from my bank accounts. And I get cashback with it!

I use my debit card but...I always choose to use it as a "credit" transaction. ( I never use my PIN, always sign) because we earn mileage that way. If you key in your PIN you do not earn mileage.
We also use a real credit card for as much as possible...again for mileage. ;)
We are going to Hawaii again this year on miles !!! so it really makes a difference ::yes::

I use my Amex gold card for everything I can :)

I use a credit card - for ff miles - but also pay it off every month. It works the save as cash, check, or debit if you don't spend money you don't have - but you get rewards for it.

My children get tired of me explaining to them constantly how we pay our credit card bill off every month and never buy anything we don't have money for. I worry that they will get the wrong impression!
