I really like them thy are very big holdalls, I wanted some new smart luggage for next year,

but I thought I would let everyone know debenhams is having their sale

Well done and thanks for letting us know. You will certainly notice those as they come of the carosel :) Love the colour, not sure hubby would though! I can feel a trip to Debenhams coming on without hubby

Were they a bargain Anna? We could do with at least 1 new case for this year's trip but, ideally, I would want them to match the ones we've already got. But they're so expensive...

Great luggage Anna!

They don't have all of the same selection that Anna has chosen, but there is quite a good selection online, some of which is reduced, here

the big ones of mine were £99 each the small £89

the tripp cases which are light weight and expandable are down from £100 to £50 and they are really nice cases

We used to spend big money on quality cases but after having so many damaged, scuffed, or broken we have bought £9.99 Value holdalls from Tesco (and Clubcard Points ;) ). If they fall apart after one holiday it would be no big deal however, they seem fairly good quality so they should last longer.#

Agreed, it will be "black case", "black case", "black case", "oh, those are OURS", "black case", "black case".... ;).

Unless, of course, you telling everybody about them here, means that we ALL buy them... :rotfl:

Are you saying that you wont use your new luggage this year?

Thanks for the tip - useful to know about luggage sales :thumbsup2

I love your new cases.

DH & the kids laugh at me for looking at luggage every time I shop! OUr biggest case was damaged on our return from Italyearlier this month>

So I think a trip to Debenhams is now in the offing.

Thanks for the tip!

We bought these specially to go this year - at check-in Virgin put them in bags (see-through ones!) to protect them.

After we got back we decided to take them to Fueteventura, after all why spend all that money and not use them, big mistake!! When checking in i asked if they had a bag to put them in and the check-in girl just looked at me as if i had gone mad!! They weren't dented but had black rubbery marks all over them. Won't be using them when we go to Ibiza in 4 weeks!!!

Think that is the thing with checked luggage - it will break your heart if you get too attached to it (a bit like new cars - no matter how much you love it and take care of it, some idiot will back into it in Sainsburys or key it as they walk past... :furious:

Have seen the samsonite badge ripped off of the front of my case by the BA conveyor belt at terminal 4 at LHR before. And on our last big trip our case took 7 days to turn up in the US and then the top handle was broken. These are good cases, but luggage people really don't treat them well :(

We desperately need new cases (infact some of you provided some useful suggestions recently :) ) before we travel in October. Our Samsonites are about 4 years old (so have done about 8 long haul trips), are battered and probably too big for the current weight restrictions being introduced by BA (our main long haul airline). Want to see some cases in the flesh though - don't like buying online before checking them out in person....
