We are DVC owners at VWL and love it. We are going with my family next May and they want to stay at AKL. With the opening of the villas there I'm thinking of doing a split stay. I really want to be close to family so the kids can be together. But I can't imagine not being at the Lodge :confused3

We will probably be staying 8days so it will be long enough be worth a split.

Is it a hassle? What's been your experience w/ a transfer? I've heard that bell service will just transfer your stuff. We'll have 2 kids so lots of stuff I'm sure.

The search is down so I apologize..but it was not on the 1st 5 pages :goodvibes

Thanks a bunch.

We have done lots of split stays, and never had a problem. When we first joined DVC we did four nights at VWL, four nights at BCV and four nights at OKW which were all wonderful. The kids thought it was great trying each new place and had favourite parts of each resort. It definitely helped plan future trips as we knew which resorts we liked best. I would say go for it, especially if you're showing family what DVC has to offer. We always visit different resorts to show how wonderful our DVC is to friends and family.
The moving isn't difficult at all. We check out early, have our luggage picked up by bell services to move for us, then check in at our new resort as early as we can. If the room isn't ready, we head out to our next park for a few hours and get into our room when we're ready for our afternoon break.
Enjoy your trip!
