Maybe YOU do, but I don't. When I purchased a home, I bought a homeowners insurance policy; bought a car, purchased auto insurance; got married, bought a life insurance policy. In none of those instances did I sit around wondering "What if...". Being a responsible person, I purchased what I needed to protect my investments and family and transfer a large portion of my risk to another entity.
Just because this is the way YOU operate, don't assume everyone else does the same thing.
Now you're just being silly..
You decide to buy homeowner's insurance.. Why? Because you are 100% sure that nothing will ever happen? No - you buy it because "what if" your house burns down - "what if" someone is seriously injured on your property - etc., etc..
You decide to buy life insurance.. Why? Because you're never going to die? No - because "what if" I die and my family is not provided for?
You may not acknowledge that you're basing your decisions on "what if's" but you definitely are - and no amount of denial or twisting of your "reasons" can negate that fact..
Sorry...
