At a charity event, Joshua Herdman who plays Goyle in the movies revealed that the plan right now is to split the two DH movies after the trio is captured by the Snatchers. So the 1st movie would end with the capture and the 2nd movie will start will them arriving at the Malfoy Mannor. Mugglenet was the ones to release this http://mugglenet.com/app/news/full_story/2767

So what does everyone think about this? Is this a good place to split the movie?

Hmmm... story-wise, I don't think so... its a weird POTC 2 type cliffhanger.

But length and substanance wise, yeah it sounds good to me.

i think thats a good cliffhanger. thats where i was kind of expecting them to do it. thats pretty much right in the middle of the book.

That's right about in the middle, but I didn't expect them to leave it at SUCH a cliffhanger though!!!
I hope they release the two parts like the did with the Matrix movies -- only a couple of months apart.
I'm going to be SOOOO annoyed if i have to flippin wait a YEAR to see the second bit!

i thought they might end the first with ron coming back, you know, end on on fairly happy note, but i guess that does leave alot for the second part to fill, and you dont wanna take away from time that needs to be used on the epic final battles (go Molly!)

i swear if they flippin change anything from the battle scene i will NOT be a happy camper.

i'm sure they will though....that's just how they roll.
but they better leave the parts with Molly in!! :thumbsup2

Good thing I've read the books or that cliffhanger would ruin my life until the next movie came out. :p

Anyways, I'm happy with it. That's what I was expecting anyway.

The exact middle of the book is around the time Harry sees the doe, Ron comes back and they destroy the horcrux.

Anyways, I'm good with this. I agree with Caitlin, I'll go nuts if they're a year apart... which they probably will be =(

The first part is November 2010, and the second part is July 2011.

But overall, good place to split in.

Yeah I suppose that is an okay place to split, I guess they need a cliffhanger for the people who haven't read the books and the "NOT" die-hard fans :goodvibes

I was kinda hoping they would split it just after Harry and Hermione escape from Voldemort in Godric's Hollow, that is at christmas and exactly half way through the book, but I guess they will make the second part mostly the about the Battle and finding out all the secrets :rotfl::rotfl:

I can't wait for the movie, at least there is New Moon and Eclipse to keep me happy inbetween :banana: and the :worship: DVD :lovestruc :lovestruc

I expected it to be around that area in th book. It's about halfway and a good cliffhanger. :thumbsup2

i'm alright with that i guess pretty good cliff hanger
i actually expected them to split it, or hoped i guess, that they would split it right after ron leaves....but whatever this is good too

Obviously I need to re-read that book. I have no idea what the Snatchers are!

You can't quote me on this, I may be a bit off but they're like Death Eaters or policelike people for Voldemort who are looking for Harry.

They mostly look for Muggle borns and people who break the Taboo

Exactly right. Looking for muggle borns who did not go through the ministry registration process. They try to capture and turn them into the ministry just to get the gold reward that comes with them.
