Someone brought this to a party at my inlaws. I was home with a sick child but my husband was kind enough to bring some of this home to me. After I had it I had to track down the recipe.

4 reg size packages of instant chocolate pudding or mousse prepared

1 large tub of whipped topping

1 pkg chocolate cake mix ( or your own cake recipe )

1 cup kahluha ( optional - but this "makes" this recipe special )

6 Skor or Heath candy bars ( chocolate toffee kinds ) chopped

Prepare box mix as directed or your prepare your own chocolate cake recipe and bake in a 9 x 13 inch pan. When done, remove from the oven, poke holes in the cake and pour the kahluha over the cake. Let cool. Meanwhile prepare the pudding or mousse. Tear or crumble the cake into pieces. In a glass or trifle bowl, layer in this order: cake , pudding, whipped topping and candy bars. Repeat layers ending with chopped candy bars on top. Chill well. Serves 12. An easy delicious dessert for buffets, parties ar just anytime!

This is the most awesome dessert! It always disappears when we serve it for a party. We have one little variation to the recipe - we use brownies instead of chocolate cake!

Beth, you are my HERO! i have made this many times but I am really bad about keeping my recipes in one place (even though I have a book to do it, they end up here and there). I have been looking for this recipe and after reading yours I know that is exactly the one I have/had. Thanks so much for posting. I've used the chocolate mousse, but do you (or anyone else) have an opinion whether the mousse or the pudding is the best in this recipe?? Thank you!!

This sounds absolutely yummy! One question, though . . .

Which size of pudding is "regular"? The large one or the small one? I'm guessing small, because you use four of them, but thought I'd better check.

Pat

10 days and counting . . . again!

Glad I could help Epcotgal8!

inky dinky doo -- I would say the small packages. :D
