We stayed at Paradise Pier in a standard (non-view room) last December. I booked through cheaptickets.com and got a 20% discount on a standard year. It was a decent deal I was happy with.

I'd like to stay there again in December this year and figured I'd do the same thing. So I have been watching the cheaptickets.com site and all they have listed are premium view rooms. Even with a discount, that's out of our price range.

Same thing with Oritz. Only premium view rooms in inventory.

I hate to spring for an AP for one of us since we probably wouldn't get to use it again. But just so I can evaluate that alternative properly, what is the typical discount and when would I expect that to be announced for an early December stay?

So are there other options I should be checking out for an onsite deal?

I was able to book a room using a AAA discount. I booked though Disney, via phone, asked for a AAA rate and got 10% off.
