Well my girlfriend and I are inexplicably excited for our very first trip to Disney World, we're departing from California on January 8th. We're staying in POFQ from the 8th-17th.
We realized that by going in an off-season we might run the risk of having some rides closed down on us, but we didn't have much of a choice since this is the only time of year we really have time to go (not to mention the only time we could afford it!). Last night I checked the ride closure calendar on WDW website and found that both Splash Mountain and Rockin' Roller Coaster are both going to be closed for the duration of our visit. This was extremely, extremely disappointing to both of us since Splash Mountain is her favorite ride (at Disneyland), and Rockin Rollercoaster was the one ride I was looking forward to the most out of all the parks (I'm an adrenaline junkie and this ride seemed most "extreme").
I'm trying to figure out some ways to "cope" with these closures. I was thinking perhaps splurging on some Cirque Du Soleil La Nouba tickets to make up for the loss and add something exciting to the trip to fill the gap. Any other ideas? I know it seems silly to be so upset but we might not be able to go again for another 5-10 years so it's pretty sad that we'll be missing out on these attractions.
Thanks folks.
