Deal Or No Deal Island

Has anyone seen Deal Or No Deal Island? I heard about it from my mom and why this show was even made is beyond me? I think it's a Survivor ripoff with Deal Or No Deal mixed in it. And why is Howie Mandel not hosting Deal Or No Deal Island when Howie made Deal Or No Deal a huge hit for NBC back in 2005 just because he was the star. I think Deal Or No Deal Island will be a failure and be cancelled soon enough. What is your take on the show?

Seems like a mish/mash of Deal & Survivor. Boring just like the original show. Howie used to stretch out the show with pointless melodrama and viewers realized no skill was involved, just luck. Most played too long hoping their case was some big amount. I doubt who is the host makes any difference.

Long running shows like Jeopardy or Wheel do well since skill is involved and viewers can play along at home.

I've seen the ads for this, but never watched the original game show, so I don't even understand what's going on.

I’m amazed that Survivor has been on tv as long as it has. I think it’s a stupid show. I think this new show is a weird idea, but you never know cause there’s alot of stupid weird tv out there now that people watch. Guess it’s true what they say….you can’t fix stupid.

I’m amazed survivor, big brother, housewives etc are still on tv too. I’m ready to move past scripted ‘reality’ shows.

Why I think Deal Or No Deal Island was even made was because I think NBC secretly plans to revive Deal Or No Deal and begin developing a reboot of Deal Or No Deal in the future and Deal Or No Deal Island is their ticket to doing it. Because when you look at the general picture game shows have always been hitmakers for NBC and when the original Deal Or No Deal came out in 2005 it was a smash hit and based on that same success NBC did the same thing when 1 Vs 100 debuted with the late Bob Saget and once they saw that Howie Mandel made Deal Or No Deal a hit they repeated the same thing with Bob Saget with 1 Vs 100. But before Deal Or No Deal NBC had success with The Weakest Link and that proved that game shows worked well on NBC. But what I think Deal Or No Deal Island is doing is promising to be a hit but in my eyes it doesn't work that way

Howie Mandel is a producer on Deal or No Deal Island, so I guess he thought it was a good idea...
