After searching the threads about DMC, it looks as if the premiere is going to be June 22 to coinicide with the re-opening of the ride. Does anyone have a clue about how to get in to the premier? Do you think the POC ride will soft open prior to the 22nd .pirate:

We will be in SoCal that week, would love to take a shot at getting to go...What can I say, the whole family is POC crazy.

Have a great new year,

Getting into the premiere would be difficult, you need an invitation. However, last Pirates premiere they set up a Red Carpet and had guests line the carpet and the stars stopped for pictures and autographs.

Thanks Tink, needed to ask. I figured it would be near impossible.

Unless you're a star of the movie, director, producer, some kind of "celebrity", Disney official or a friend or family member of any of those then I highly doubt you'll get in. Or if you win a competition. ;)

Soooo unfair. :( Premieres are so cool and if it's for a movie that you REALLY love, the experience would be even better!! And HELLO - if the premiere is at Disneyland then it's gonna be amazing just for that!!!! :goodvibes

I heard that the first premiere was manic!! And CMs working anywhere near the RoA had to sign legal agreements to not leak any info. on the movie?!? If they even got close enough to see any of it that is.

And now that it's the second Pirates movie I'm gessing it'll be EVEN BGGER than 2003's?!

I'd sure love to go too though. It'd be amazing. But even if you can get into the oark and get a spot beside the carpet to foresee the arrivals that'd be amazing too.

Good luck! ;)

I find it never hurts to ask a question or try. I will keep looking at the info coming out from Disney. We will be in the park that day and you never know what can happen and I have a camera if it does.

Thanks again pirate:

That is a great attitude. I said it was difficult, not impossible. You might be at the right place at the right time. pirate:

Having been in the wrong places at the wrong times I have always found that if you do your homework and try, try, try, things sometimes go your way. There are alot of people willing to smile and say yes...5 marriages proves that. Two things I am try for Lunch at 33 and a shot at going to that opening. If you hear any scoopes. let me know.

Have a good evening,

my friend is obsessed with Johnny Depp and frequents forums all about him. The word on his sites is that the premiere is 7/1. Obviously I can't confirm that! I can't even confirm POTC opening on the 22nd since some sites say the 16th.

Here are some pictures I took that weekend.

Positive thinking blackjackdelta!!! ;) Good luck. Hope things go your way. :teeth:

Great photo's. Gives me a much better perspective on how they may arrange the area. I have written a letter to Disney requesting 6 tickets for the opening at DLR, there have to be commoners somewhere around there. Never hurts to ask..we will await their reply.

I took those pictures very early in the day. The park closed early (maybe 5pm?) for the premier.

I believe some people were allowed to remain in the park, to watch the red carpet arrivals. I seem to remember people with blankets, board games, etc. staking out spots on Main Street.

We made our reservations at the GC months earlier, before they annouced the event would be the first weekend of our vacation. We didn't get the room type we requested; did get the park view but not a room with bunkbeds.

Good luck getting tickets!

I think the studio is the only one that gives passes to the premiere.

I wrote to the Disney Studios address. Sent the letter certified mail..we sit back and wait...I will keep surfin the boards as time permits.

If I recall there were a some charities that had tickets with on-line auctions for fundraising; that may be a way to get a foot in the door!

I would sell my soul to Davey Jones to see Orlando Bloom in person  LOL!!

Good luck Jack I hope you can get in!

Not really into the stars as much as the "event" . I would not mind talking to Geoffrey Rush and Mr Depp. What wonderful actors they both are. I am truely amazed at how talented people are at making the mind believe.

Have a great weekend,

:rotfl: Same for me. But with Keira of course!!!! ;)

I was there the day of the premier with about 10 family members. We had planned to go that day as a mini reunion and had no idea that the premier was happening. When we got there and found out what was going on, particularly that the park would be closing early and that access to NOS, etc. was closed we were really upset (as were many others) that our day at DL would be cut short. It turned out that the park hours were slightly extended or maybe they didn't close the entire park (you could still go into FL and TL)--can't quite remember, but the early closing was modified somewhat, I think due to many complaints.

At any rate, as we were leaving DL to go to CA, the procession down the red carpet was beginning. We stopped around the city hall area to watch a little bit and happened to be standing near a guest relations cast member (in her plaid outfit). I started talking to her and mentioned how disappointed we were that our day was cut short, it was a family trip, etc., just as an FYI. I wasn't rude, just sharing my point of view. She was very nice and offered everyone in our party 1 day park hoppers (good for 1 year), which I wasn't at all expecting! We thanked her profusely, of couse. THEN, she said "Come on, follow me" and took our group up the steps to the area in front of the train station, which was roped off to the general public and from there we had a great view of the whole red carpet event! :goodvibes

The moral of the story is, I think, that good manners, kindness, and staying positive go a long way to helping the magic happen at the Happiest Place on Earth. :wizard:
