I put in some codes I got recently from DMC and vmk won't accept them. Anyone else having this problem?

If your codes are a day old, they don't work. That's the way it is with me.
They might have done codes differently since last January lol. (or was it this january??)

oic that day use codes. I get it, Oh i get it, pages of codes were being sold on ebay so maybe vmk wanted to stop this by making all new codes only useable the day they are gained.

Yes you can still get Sparrow, 1 in 5,000 codes i believe.

Amazingly I have 1 friend who has won 4!

So don't give up!

Just to clear up the odds on getting Sparrow...

You don't get a Sparrow costume for 1 in 5,000 codes. It is a one in 5,000 chance every time you enter a code (big difference). This means that every time you enter a code, VMK generates a completely random number between 1 and 5,000. Here is an example of how they give out the prizes for the code:

If the number returned is:
1-1,250 Skeleton Monkey
1,251 - 2,500 Dead Man's Chest
2,501 - 3,750 Davy Jones Organ
3,751 - 4,999 Poster
5000 Jack Sparrow Costume

So you could essentially enter tens of thousands of codes and never win the costume, or you could enter a single one. It's all about luck. And yes, they are still giving out Sparrow.

Hey Boys, sorry to blow a hole in your theory, but that is not factual. My sister played it for me and provided me a Word doc with several pages of codes. It took me a little under 2 months to enter them all and every single one of them worked.

Where did you get this information from?

I am a game designer and programmer (not affiliated with VMK or Disney).

That is how the Narnia game is done, and it is my opinion that the Sparrow game is coded very similarly. The difference between the Narnia game and the Sparrow game is that prizes for the sparrow game are determined at the time of entry, whereas the Narnia game codes are determined right when you get one.

Well, to be exact, my sister gave me the list of codes on Thanksgiving weekend 07. I did not start entering the codes until somwhere between returning from my Disney trip in mid-December and Christmas. The last of my codes were just entered, where I completed them on mules so that I could give the winnings away by holding a "free" room and not in my own inventory.

I can also confirm I don't think that theory is correct and it's more likely a glitch or something like that. I just logged in and entered a handful of codes I've had since June 2006 (that's right, I said 2006, not 2007; I'm busy, sorry! ) and they worked just fine. I'd hold off on entering the codes if you are continuing to have problems; maybe whatever it is will get fixed soon and you'd hate to waste codes in the meantime.

i just tried getting codes today and it just has X's, does anyone know why it is doing this?
