DH just called me at the store...he's home with DD6, and DD7 just got home from school.

He said that DD7 and DD6 had gone downstairs into my office to get paper....which they do...ONLY they NEVER go down without asking me. Well, given that DH doesnt feel good, they didnt want to disturb him (he's laying in bed watching tv..)...so they went down ...

DD6 comes running upstairs "DADDY MOMMY HAS MORE PRESENTS NOT WRAPPED YET...."...

DD6's bike was unwrapped, and DD7's big Graco baby center thing was unwrapped....I'm sure they took off the jacket that was covering them...

They also saw the silver wrapped packages from Santa.

So...do I tell em now that they are from us, not really Santa...or ONLY give DD7 her quad from Santa, and DD6 her stuff thats coming in from Sears Monday...graco baby pack n play, and jogger stroller...

Now DD6 knows she getting a bike!~

When I was 5 or 6, and still believing in Santa, my dad took me with him to the Sears warehouse where he picked up our Santa presents. When I asked him about it, he said that they were too big to fit on Santa's sleigh so he was storing them for Santa until he put them under our tree Christmas Eve. It worked for me...

They pretty much believe what you want them to at that age. You could say the neighbors grandparents are storing them at your house for their kids. Then WOW you got the same thing X-mas morning. I wouldn't ruin the Santa myth just yet, although I was very happy when my kids stopped believing and we could give up on the charade.

DS found his presents one year. I told him that Santa was going to bring him so much stuff that year, Santa had to drop off some of it early! :p It worked for him.:smooth:

:earseek:
Did you admit you bought them? If not, just act as surprised as they are and tell them Santa must have dropped them off early.

I would give the presents they saw from you and switch the other presents from Santa~ once hes gone hes gone in there eyes:(

I think they're still young enough that you could pull off the "Santa had to drop them off early" bit..

And as for the gifts that weren't wrapped yet, "Santa was overloaded with wrapping this year and asked Daddy & I if we would mind helping him out..."

If they were older, it probably wouldn't work, but at their age - if you're calm, cool, and very convincing, I think you can still "save the day".... :)

I think what I'm going to do is....

Give DD7 the Quad that's not here, and she didnt see from Santa...

Give DD6 the graco play set, and swan lake horse and carraige and baby jogger stroller, that's not here yet...from Santa.

I think I'll put the bike together, and put the tag on that "from mom & dad"..

The other thing they saw was DD7's Graco Set...I'm going to have DD6's set actually set up, and dd7's will stay in the box.

Everything else is wrapped in silver, dull for DD7 and shiney for DD6...I think I'll unwrap all of that, and REWRAP it with different paper, and put those as "from Santa" as well.

That way, they'll never see the silver paper again.

DD7 told me when I got home "I saw dani's bike, and my baby stroller set"...

I guess I better rethink bringing santa gifts home before christmas from here on out...

Thanks guys for the support

Great ideas Brandy. I would re-wrap, too and tell them the other presents went to Toys for Tots. They sound like really great presents. Hope your husband feels better, soon.

I put my daughters in the back of the basement by the burner since she is afraid to go back there and I also keep some in my car trunk, they've been in there for about a month now LOL!
