I rented points last year. We are traveling in April. I had the DVC owner sign us up for DDP. However, since then we have bought at BLT!!!! I am thinking I may do an TIW card instead. I am still on the fence due to not knowing the dates for our 2010 trip. That said, do I have to take the DDP off the ressie before I arrive or can I decline at the desk if I decide to go with the TIW.

That's a good question. I would cancel it a couple of days prior to arrival just to be safe.

You have to cancel prior through MS. Since you are a member, they may allow you to do so if it's in your name or they may require the owner on that contract do so. If you wait until arrival, you will not have a choice.

You'll need an AP to be able to purchase the TIW card. It's not a DVC perk, but an AP perk.

You don't own your reservation, so the member who owns it will have to cancel the DDP for you at least a few days in advance of your trip. You can't cancel when you check in.

Which DDP did you sign up for? I'm thinking about having both the QSDP and the TIW (so my DD can get food with our QSDP, and I can get my beer and any extras and maybe an extra TS or two, with the TIW, at some places where the TIW works, as well as having the TIW for the days we're not on the DDP) -- they work at different places depending on which DDP you have and where you want to eat. The TIW is generally limited to TS restaurants (and some QS in AK).
