Okay so I'm a bit confused about the whole Fantasmic dining package. I know what you get- that makes sense to me but if you're on the basic ddp will it use 1 credits or 2.

I would also be interrested in finding out for the Candlelite Processional package although I'm sure it works the same way.

For the Fantasmic package it depends on the restaurant you pick.

If you choose Hollywood & Vine or Mama Melrose, it's 1 credit.

If you choose Brown Derby, it's 2 credits.

If I had to guess about the Candlelight Processional, I would say one credit, as there are no two-credit restaurants inside Epcot.

1st, Welcome to the Dis!

Now to answer your question, for the Fantasmic package you will use however many TS credits as the restaurant you're at. If you're at Brown Derby (signature restaurant) it'll be 2 TS credits. Any of the other restaurants will be 1 TS. --Brown Derby is the only signature dining at the Studios.

Candlelight Proc. package is the same way except there are no Signature Dining restaurants on the DDP in Epcot. Any of the CLP packages you book will be 1TS credit.

Thanks so much!

So do I order these packages when I call to make my ADR? Also what time should we plan on lining up with these packages? Do we have a seperate line?

I really appreciate your help. This will be our third world trip but the first time we do a package.

Okay, I would also like to know the answer to this.

We have an ADR for dinner at Mama Melrose with 1 credit of the dining plan. If I wanted to do a Fantasmic Dinner Package ....

1. What do I do? Call Disney Dining and tell them I'd like to change my ADR to a Fantasmic Dinner Package?

2. Does this limit what I can choose off the menu? Would I still get a beverage, entree, and dessert?

3. Do I just eat dinner and then they give me a pass/voucher for the special entrance to the Fantasmic Theatre?

Thanks in advance for anyone who can answer these questions.

1. You'll have to see what times they have available. Typically the times are earlier than without the package.
2. nope, plus you get an appetizer on this package.
3. yep

be prepared to have your dinner time changed. we had to eat at 3.30 for the fantasmic show. if you don't do the fantasmic dinner package, be prepared to line up at least an hour before the show. when it was time, we walked in about 15 mins before, using the special entrance just for those using the dining package. it was a much more relaxing way to watch the show, especially if you are on the ddp and need to eat a ts in the park that day anyway.

How is the reserved seating area at Fantasmic for those who do the package? I've heard they are off to the side, but do you still have a good view?

Actually, every time we've been there, people start lining up way before an hour...huge lines even 2 hours before the show. It was very nice to arrive 35 minutes before the show & have lots of good choices for seats available. The place was packed by show time, with standing room only section filled too.

If you call for ressies early enough, you can get more reasonable dinner times than 3:30 (called in February 2008 for May 2008 dinner ressies...got 5:00 at Hollywood & Vine with Fantasmic package.) Don't know if this is true, but have read that they do not do Dinner package ressies for later than 5:30. If you are stuck with 3:30 dinner ressies, keep in mind that you can eat in the Fantasmic amphitheater...either buy your snacks/drinks ahead of time or there is a snack bar inside the stadium. There also are some vendors walking around selling food/drinks (including popcorn, cotton candy & beer)

They had about 1/3 of the stadium roped off for Dinner package seats, the right side as you're facing the stage area...all the seats, top to bottom (except part of the top two rows were reserved for wheel chair people & their families.) Excellent views from all parts of the stadium...you can sit close or far away...still good views. Sitting up close (near the bottom) you may get splashed if there is any breeze at all, and it's a long wait to exit (thousands of people in there.) If you sit near the top right, you will be among the first to exit at the end.

We found that the castmembers were very good at enforcing the dinner package arrangement seating...if you didn't come in the special entrace (and show your pass) they shooed you out of the reserved seating area.

One other thing-the Fantasmic dinner package is always for the first show of the night (9:00) during the time of year when they do 2 shows, there are not reserved seats for the later show (11:00) but there also is not near as big of a crowd usually.

On the allearsnet website it states that you must use a credit card to hold this package. How do you handle this with the DDP? TIA

Thanks everyone for the imput. Catne, I appreciate the tips on the reserved seating area. I think the FDP is the best option for my tribe.

But do you tell them when you book that it will be on the Dining Plan? Have they ever made a mistake and charged someone's card ahead of time?

they only charge your card if you don't show up, or cancel with very short notice (not sure exactly what it is...might be @ 48hrs or something)

The credit card is just to secure the reservation. I am guessing it is to eliminate people double booking dining for the night then not showing or cancelling last minute.

A plus about booking Mama Melrose & Fantasmic dinner package with the ddp is you get an appetizer...even though it is no longer included in the 2008 plan:thumbsup2

I didn't know this! I have the package booked for Oct.21st. 5pm! Oh I can't wait. I've never seen Fantasmic! at WDW..I've only seen it at DL.

The credit card is not to pay for the meal, it is to hold your reservation. It will only be charged for the no-show fee if you don't cancel and don't show up.
