We're looking forward to our first "trip home" in January. When I made our reservations, they said the dining plan was not yet available for DVC members, and I assumed it was because of the changes. But then I was reading about how details and prices haven't been finalized for DVC members.

Is it even possible to get the DDP as DVC members staying in a DVC resort? Are the prices different than what other people pay?

Thanks for helping this brand new DVC member!!

As a DVC memebr I have 4 trips planned this year (2007) and have the DDP added to each reservation. It is the same price $38.99 per adult and $10.99 per child as anyone else purchasing it.
I really hope they offer it in2008. We are planning at least one full week there. However with the changes, we are going to weigh our options that "if" they remove the appetizer and gratuity will it still be worth it to use "if" the prices remain the same. We will be up there in Oct. for a week so let the calculations begin!:cheer2:

By the way where did you read about the pricing not being finalized?

A trip this year has the price set the same as everyone else would pay, but it has not yet been announced if DVC will get access to DDP next year.

DDP 2008 has been officially announced, and here's the link to the DDP 2008 FAQ over on the DDP board: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1545287

Basically, there are two plans. The standard DDP gives you one TS, one CS, and one snack per person per day and the price is $37.99 per day for adults and $9.99 for kids 3-9. Both the appetizer and gratuity have been dropped from the TS meals, so the math on this plan is very different from the plans in previous years.

The Deluxe DDP costs $69.99 per adult per day, and I think $19.99 per kid (not sure about the kid's price). It includes three meals a day, all of which can be used either for TS or CS, plus a refillable mug for each participant. I'm not completely clear on all the fine points of this package, but I know it does not include the gratuity. It MAY include the appetizer -- at least at signature restaurants -- but I'm not sure of that.

You'll have to call MS to be sure, but I believe I've seen posts here stating that DVC members have been offered both of these plans when reserving for 2008.

I just made reservation with points for January 2008 last week and was offered a chance to book the dining plan. Since I am staying one week and only my parents are staying for the next two we made two separate reservations and will try the DDP for the first week and then they will decide if they want it for the rest of their stay after a few days. It must be booked 2 days before the start of your stay.
