DDP with DVC rental?

We are renting points from a DVC member so we will not be booking a room through Disney. Can we do the DDP if we purchase tickets only as long as we are staying onsite? Sorry if this has been asked before...I did a search and didn't find anything.

Yes, you can add the DDP to a DVC reservation. Call the member you rented from and have him/her add the DDP. You will pay for the plan when you check in. With a DVC reservation there is no ticket purchase required to obtain the DDP.

Does anyone know if I am renting DVC points can I still make all of mine at the 180 mark or do I need to call day by day? Thanks!

Yes...IF you are staying at a DVC resort on your rental. If you are staying at a non DVC resort on points, you cannot participate in the dining plan through either DVC or the Disney resort.

The member you are renting from must call Member Services and add the dining plan to your resort reservation. It cannot be added at check-in. You must pay for the plan at check-in. If you are purchasing the dining plan through DVC, there is no requirement to purchase park tickets.

DVC members (and therefore their guests) can make dining reservations at 180+10.
