I know that they ask you if you will be on the DDP when making ADR's, but what if you are planning on paying for a couple of additional meals OOP. Do you still tell them you're on the DDP? Does it really matter if you tell them when making ADR's?

I believe once they put the ddp into your info for ressies it's there. That doesn't mean you can't pay oop for a few meals or extra stuff..Just let your server know, in fact, I told each server that we had the ddp last August and then when the "bill" came, I just placed my card in the pocket with the bill...

At reservation time it doesn't matter whether you have the DDP or not unless you are booking something like CRT or the dinner shows which are supposed to be prepaid in full at booking. For a regular reservation, what matters is how you tell your server you wish to pay at the restaurant.

Additionally, if you have DDP and make a ADR at a restaurant that requires a credit card guarantee - you have to give them your credit card regardless of whether you tell them you're on the dining plan. In the end, though, at the beginning of your meal, just be up front with your server on how you wish to pay, and you'll be fine.
