I am sure there is a thread that breaks this down for me, what are the main benifits to deluxe vs traditional ddp
Thanks!

Deluxe Plan:
-Adds an appetizer for any a la carte lunch/dinner
-Per night of stay each person receives 3 meal credits to be used at any TS or QS location
-Per night of stay each person receives 2 snack credits

Traditional DDP:
-Per night of stay each person receives 1 TS credit and 1 QS credit
-Per night of stay each person receives 1 snack credit

Thanks for the breakdown! We have a lot of 2 credit meals this trip so I need to run the numbers to see what works better for us. Again thank you!

We love the Deluxe dining plan!!! We usually do 2 meals a day. A single credit table service for lunch and then a Signature 2 credit table serice for dinner! We love to make our dinners an experience...and the Signature restaurants are awesome!

My Hubby and I almost always order an appetizer with our meal at home, so we really like the DxDP for that. We like to have a 1 credit TS lunch and a 2 credit signature dinner each night. We are late risers who tend to eat late, so we usually just grab a snack either at the resort on our way out or at the park for breakfast (either using a snack credit or OOP), book a TS in the park we are in for a later lunch (1 or 2pm) then schedule a nice dinner for after we return from the parks. We love being able to order nice appetizers, and because we get one per person, we can order, for example, the scallop app and the crab cake app at HBD (OOP $15 each). The scallop app just ONE scallop with some pork belly! That would be impossible to share (seriously, a half a scallop?!), and the crabcakes aren't much better with just 2 small cakes. We don't feel like we are wasting our money (would be $30 OOP for both) on apps only person can eat because the portion is so incredibly small, since they are included on the plan. And, because we do order apps that are small portioned, we don't feel completely stuffed after each meal. If we don't want dessert because we feel too full, we don't get it, or only order 1 to share. We like to go during F&W, and love that we can order most all the F&W booth options as snack credits! We throw in a breakfast here and there because we do like to eat a real breakfast now and then. Here's a breakdown of meal schedule for our upcoming 5 night trip:

Day 1: Snack breakfast around 9:30am---Chefs De France 12pm---Fultons 9:30pm (6 credits)
Day 2: Kona Café 9:30am---Via Napoli 2:30pm---Artist Point 8:45pm (8 credits)
Day 3: Snack breakfast around 9am--Yak n Yeti 12pm-----Jiko 6:30pm (6 credits)
Day 4: Olivia's Café 9:30am---BOG 2pm (OOP)----Ohana 8:10pm (4 credits)
Day 5: light snack breakfast---F&W booths for lunch (14 credits left)----Narcoosee's 7:55pm (4 credits)
Last Day: Boma breakfast 8:30----F&W lunch (remaining credits, OOP rest)---leaving around 3pm (2 credits)

We had a total of 30 credits, and the only thing we will do OOP is a BOG lunch, which shouldn't be too bad on our pocket book, and maybe an extra booth or so at F&W on our last day. We did book our trip using a Free Dining package, staying at a moderate and paying the upgrade to DxDP. I think it's a good value for us, and we can relax and choose what entrée we really want to eat without having to worry about how much we are spending since we already paid for it. Minus the tip cost, of course. We have some gift cards to cover that, and what we don't use for tips we use for last minute souvenirs.

If you want 2 sitdown meals per day, including lots of signature meals, the DxDP makes more sense. But with current prices, it's hard to make it very economical. It's $110 per night... So even a $65 dinner, a $30 lunch, and $10 worth of snacks... Assuming you want all that food as well, 2 big desserts, 2 full appetizers, 2 full entrees, 2 heavy snacks.. You are still losing $5 per day.
Go back a few years when the DxDp was around $75, and it was a good deal.

I am doing the DxDP for just one day (have a 1-4-4 split stay) because I booked the Chefs de France CP package ($75) and Minnie's Holiday Dine F! ($53) for consecutive nights. And since I have it booked for the first night of my trip, I will enjoy the benefits of the mug for my whole stay. This is one of the rare times it made sense for me to book the dining plan since I couldn't use my TIW card for those meals.
