Since it has now been out for a while and with free dining coming up, I'm curious to find out how many of you are doing ddp vs dxddp vs oop.

Please participate in the poll. Even if you are getting free dining and upgrading to dxddp, please select dxddp.

(Sorry the poll didn't go through, but would love to have your answer anyway.)

Thank you!!!

We stuck with the original ddp. Two different CMs tried (two different phone calls for ressies), very politely, to upgrade us to the deluxe, but, I, very politely, declined. My explanation was that I didn't want to even fathom trying to get my three year old to sit down for that many meals! :lmao:

Seriously, though, it's just what works best for our family. :)

we are doing the standard dining plan. For us its a couple of reasons.

-Having to plan more than 1 adr a day is too regimented for us.
-We usually end up splitting meals because it is too much food.

OOP, no dining plan. Most of my WDW trips are too short. For the one that occurs during the free dining period, I am going to two TS restaurants that don't participate and only one that does.

After much debate... lol We are doing DxDDP

We were originally doing DDP and then paying OOP for extra meals, but then we realized that "holiday" pricing would be in effect during June now so DxDDP now saves us quite a bit of money

We are upgrading to the DxDP.....for these reasons!!!!:thumbsup2

1. We paid OOP last year for one meal, with DxDP we won't have to
2. We really want the appetizer with our meal and would have paid OOP for it
3. We get 2 snacks a day and our resort mug, which again would have been OOP!!!

We were going to pay OOP but then FD came out (hadn't heard of it until I started reading these boards) and now we're doing the regular DDP :)

We have booked for DxDDP for our upcoming May trip. I have a family of expensive eaters so when we ran the numbers it was claerly the way to go for us. This will be our first time on the dining plan as before I thought it was silly to have to buy a 1 day ticket to get the plan. I hope they keep letting AP holders book room/dine packages.

Okay so don't tell my dh, but I'm thinking about upgrading to DXDDP. :rolleyes1 I've got more ts booked than are on the DP and maybe we could do a few more sit down meals which might equal more healthy food...plus all those cool snacks to bring home as pressies... and we could do Jiko or Artist Point or something like that maybe.

Here's a question that must be obvious but I can't find the answer - how much is the Deluxe plan per night?

I'm also curious to know if anyone has found it worthwhile. 4 of our nights will be during free dining so it would just be the upgrade. The other 4 nights would be paying the whole thing.

Another question that just popped up - if we're splitting our stay between 2 places (August 20 - 24 at WL and 24-28 at AKL), does that mean that our dining credits will be stuck into those two blocks? LIke will we have to use all the first four days' credits during that time and the next ones in the last four days?

So many questions! THanks!!! :hippie:

The DxDDP is 69.99 per night per adult and 19.99 per night per child, under 2 is free.

We are doing the DxDDP for our upcoming trip. It's our first trip and I thought why not go all out! LOL. Even though we have a 5 yr old and 16 month old and TS might be a mini nightmare, we eat 3 meals a day anyway, so I figured why not just go for it. We booked almost all character dining (for my 16 month old's sake) and mostly buffets -- so we could eat as quickly as we need to and go if he starts to freak out. I'm hoping that it equals out in the end, but if not, it's still going to be an amazing vacation.

We just upgraded to DxDP for our trip in June. I ran it past my DH and thought for sure that he would freak, but he didn't. I explained to him that we would be able to sit and enjoy lunch in an a/c restaurant when it was so hot outside, during park touring & also, that we could eat at some signature restaurants & he's all for that. DD13 is already eyeballing the surf & turf at Narcoossee's.

We are going with the DxDP.
Like the appetizers
Eating at Signature locations
Plenty of snack credits to quench our thirst
for us our savings will be $1000.00 +
