I had lunch at Le Cellier yesterday, and to my extreme happiness, they have debuted a new great option for those of us on the Dining Plan who miss our appetizers! They said it just started this Sunday.

For one sit-down credit, you can have your choice from a limited menu of an appetizer, entree, and dessert!

From what I remember, appetizer choices included Bowl of Cheese Soup, Spicy Chicken and Chipotle Sausage, and one or two other items.

Entrees to chose from were Prime Rib Sandwich and Mushroom Ravioli, I'm pretty sure another sandwich or two and a salad.

Desserts were Maple Creme Brulee, Sorbet, and Chocolate Moose.

For those not on the Dining Plan, you can get this meal for $29.99.

I'm kicking myself for not snagging a copy of the menu so I could get the whole thing.

I'm also wondering if any other restaurants are starting this, and also if it's just for lunch or if they have dinner options as well. I'm hoping others can report on their findings!

If they're going to offer this, it's probably an effort to get the dining plan users to voluntarily order the less expensive entrees by allowing them to have an appetizer if they restrict themselves to a limited menu.

There is one post on the restaurant board referring to a trip report that said Le Cellier also had such a menu at dinner.

My thought is a more limited meal still allows them to serve faster and have the table turn over they want.

If this is the case I can see too that this entices more guests to have lunch rather than dinner. Those who really do care about an appy can choose lunch.

Thats a lie and they know it. The base DDP does not offer appetizers unless theyre included with a particular meal such as the fantasmic dinner package

I just ate at Le Cellier last week and they have a menu they call the 'chef's special' or something like that. For one price, it does include the appetizer and dessert and it can be used with the DDP. My dad took advantage of it, the rest of us did not. We paid OOP for our Cheddar Cheese soup...which was great! :)

This is a limited trial at a select number of dining locations at 'the World' to gauge guest reaction and see if this is something that will fly at all locations.

That said.. it may be offered on some days and not others ... at some locations and not others. One should not count on this being available for your trip whenever it is.

As with anything on a 'trial' basis... this offer could disappear at any time without explanation.
