For the Free Dining Plan, I read that you need only purchase at least a 1-day base ticket to qualify.

Now, say for example, you have 2 adults and one child staying in a room. Do you still qualify for the free dining if only the child and one adult gets park tickets and the other adult does not?

Essentially, if you are a party of 3 staying on property for 7 nights, to qualify for the free dining, does only one person have to buy a 1-day park ticket?

I'm curious because one member of our party does not want to attend the parks.

Thanks!

Its an all or nothing type of thing. Everyone on the resservation has to get the plan for the length of the stay and everyone on the resservation, except DVC, has to get at least a 1 day park ticket.

Each person on the dining plan must pay for atleast one day of park admission as part of the package.

We have annual passes, but in order to get the dining plan we had to pay for one day of park passes for each member of our party. We will save the passes for a future trip.

I hope this helps.

Yes that helps - it's still a huge savings and a great opportunity. We'll just buy that person a 1-day park ticket then.

Thanks!

One more thing - you can't buy 1-day park tickets in advance can you? Because then essentially, don't you have to buy them at check-in? Or how would that work?

you have to get the tickets when you book the room it's part of a 'package' done through CRO.

If you get the one day tickets for everyone in your group, can you add days to some of the tickets but not all? My DH is coming 2 days later than the rest of us...

You buy them as part of the package.

Yes, you can add days to some of the tickets but not all. I ordered a one day for each of us in the party for my package and will only upgrade 3 of them when we get there. I was told you can do it at DTD or the parks.

I have an AP and got the 1 day base ticket. When I was checking the price online before I booked, I tried checking the "No Expiration" box and it took off the 1 day ticket so that the lowest option was a 2 day ticket. So, does that mean that the 1 day ticket DOES expire within 14 days after you check in? My AP doesn't expire until next May so I'd like to be able to use it then to apply to my renewal.

Tickets expire 14 days after first use, not 14 days after check in.

Since a 1 day ticket can only be used once, it doesn't expire & doesn't need the no expiration option.

Thank you! That's great! I looked everywhere, but couldn't figure that one out.

Now, another question...since it's a 1 day ticket only, can anyone use it, or is it tied to me specifically?

The tickets aren't tied to anyone until they go through the scanner and someone puts their fingers on the biometrics to encode the strip on the back.

You can do it right at your resort as well. I already have a ticket left from last year, so we will only upgrade my DHs ticket.

This is what we are doing too. We have passes, so we will save the MYW base tickets for a future trip.

Last Sept. we didn't realize that the 1 day base was basically good until used. If we had we would have held onto until another trip. That's what we're doing this trip as we have unused days on other tickets.
