DDP - substitutions/supplements?

new to the DDP and had a few questions about it:

-on the basic plan, i see appetizers are not included. if we want some, can we just pay a supplement? are soups/salads included?

-if we'd rather not have dessert (especially one per person!) can we substitute something else for it...say, an appetizer?

-for the children's meals, if an appetizer IS incl, are these special "child" appetizers or from the regular menu?

-i've read that, for counter service, we can ask to have our dessert later - is this true? is this always granted or does it depend on the CM ringing you up? and does that dessert need to be redeemed at the same restaurant, or can you ask for it at another CS location?

-for TS, are there certain meals that don't qualify for the DDP?

You can pay out of pocket for apps if you want them, you cant sub a dessert for an app though

The childrens apps are usually grapes or carrot sticks or similar, not what an adult would consider an app

Not sure about the dessert for CP, Id imagine if its not too crowded you could do it but if its busy they may not remember you and think youre trying to scam another dessert:]

There are a few restaurants not on the ddp, most of the ones in DDT, Rainforests Cafe, etc, etc. I believe the number of restaurants ON the DDP is over 140 or so

Not sure about the dessert for CP, Id imagine if its not too crowded you could do it but if its busy they may not remember you and think youre trying to scam another dessert:]

what i read was, they somehow mark your rcpt so you can come back later to claim it. didn't know how consistent this was tho!

Im sure it can be done, most parents dont want a giant piece of chocolate cake sitting in front of their kid when theyre trying to eat their dinner.

The only places where you can come back later for dessert is where ice cream is a dessert option which is at the water parks and resort CS locations. Most of the desserts are prepackaged and easy to save for later though.

You can not substitute an appetizer for dessert.Soups or salads are not included unless the menu says it is part of the entree( i can't think of any restaurants that do this off the top of my head).Appetizers you can pay out of pocket for.Kids appys are sometimes a small cup of soup, or carrots and celery sticks.As far as the CS place, they WOULD NOT let us do this 2 weeks ago at Pecos Bills,Pinocchio village Haus, or Cosmic Rays since all the desserts were prepackaged.Like a pp said, if Icecreams is a dessert option they may allow it then.
