DDP snack change for 2009

Hello All!! I've been meaning to post since I returned from NYE at WDW. In the past, we have always been able to get cereal and milk for 1 snack credit. NOW, it counts as 2 credits.

This change in the DDP put us over the threshhold. We will not be doing the dining plan on future trips to the World.

That stinks! Isn't going to make me not do the plan though, over a $1.19 milk.

I thought that was how it always was...one cereal=1 snack, one milk=1 snack. total=2 snacks. Maybe i always had really stict cashiers?? haha

That's interesting, because I picked up a thing of cereal as a snack two days ago and the woman checking me out told me to get a milk for a complete snack. I didn't because we just wanted the dry cereal to snack on, but I wonder how it would have rung up.

I was not very happy when we went in November and we were not able to purchase the $3.99 trail mixes or $3.50 larger water bottles on snack credits. Previously we would keep these items in the room for late night snacks. Now they say it has to be what's considered an individual serving. We are not ready to give up the dining plan YET. We kept all our receipts did the math and we did better with DDP than we would have without it, but it was closer than the previous trip. The other advantage in our opinion is the fact that we know exactly what our trip will cost prior to getting on the plane. However I do suspect there will be a point where the DDP is either too much money, gone, or very different than today.
