For TS, I ate at Coral Reef, Rose & Crown, Crystal Palace, Teppenyaki, and Sci Fi. For CS, I ate at Tangerine Cafe, BC Marketplace, Captain Cooks, Sunshine Seasons, and Tusker House. A few rules seem somewhat illogical. Like at Sci Fi, a milk shake ($4.25) can be counted as your beverage but not a flavored soda ($2.99). And at Coral Reef, one diner really wanted 2 appetizers instead of an appetizer and an entree. Although it was less "value" for her, that's really what she wanted. However, her server said she had to order one appetizer and one entree. Also, watch your credits! When I lost my room key, the front desk CM printed out a full report of my DDP credits and mentioned that it's very common for meals to be charged to the room instead of being credited to the DDP-so she suggested I watch out for it. I only had one meal that I thought was not good "value"-at Sunshine Seasons, I wanted soup and salad, but the only way I was told that I could do that was to use a snack credit for my soup as well as the CS credit for my meal. And the salad was rather small, I thought. Tangerine Cafe was the only place where I got no choice on desserts, it had to be Baklava, but their requirement was excellent. Overall I'd do the DDP again and go to Tangerine Cafe again. Any questions I'd be happy to answer.

Thanks for sharing your DDP report. Tangerine Cafe is one of our favorite WS counter service eateries. Glad the DDP worked well for you there - we could eat the baklava :).

That is really too bad that two appetizers in stead of an appetizer and entree were not allowed at Coral Reef. In years past we had no problem doing that when we were on the various iterations of the Gold Key plan. I wonder if it was a personal decision of the server. I think I would have been tempted to ask to speak to a manager on that one.

Glad it worked well for you for the most part though.

What did you order at Captain Cook's? We haven't been there since it reopened although we did walk by it. It looks great and I am so glad the arcade is not connected.:thumbsup2

Disney's TS restaurant chefs are always very good about handling special requests, so rather than ordering an appetizer as your entree, you could just ask to speak to a chef about a special request, and then request an entree that is (coincidentally :)) very much like the appetizer.

There usually is *some* way to get what you want, as long as you are willing to get creative:thumbsup2

This also happened to us, but we did not figure it out until after we got our Visa bill and there was a $15.95 charge on it that we could not account for. We got the meal just prior to leaving, so we did not realize they charged us.

We will avoid that from now on by not having the ability to charge on the room key.

Beach club marketplace isn't on the 2007 Dining Menu and I was worried because we are staying there and I was hoping to do quite a few Quick Service meals there. You ate there did you have any problems? What did you order? Were there any signs posted.
Just curious,
Kelli

Hi,I'm new to this..first post. We will be there Apr. 15-22. Me,DH, and DD9.:cheer2: DD9 will be having her birthday on Apr.21 and one place she wants to eat is Coral Reef. We will be on DDP..I have a question...is Coral Reef good..should we do lunch or dinner? Any other dining must would be great......first trip for DH(39) and DD(9)...staying at POP and can't wait!! Last trip for me was decades ago and don't recall eating in the world(family trip and small budget). We have decided to let DD plan her entire day for Bday. I thought I might suggest crystal palace, not sure. Thanks.

My unsolicited advice is to get on the phone with disney dining and make your reservations now. And have fun!!!

Try the beef, bean and bleu sandwich at POP- it's GREAT!

No problems at all. For my counter serve meal I got a roast beef and brie on a roll, bottle of soda, orange, and rice krispy treat. For snacks, I bought large gelato (twice) and a cup of fruit. Actually I did have one minor problem-once when I ordered gelato as a snack, the CM charged me instead. When the front desk printed out my charges, I noticed it, and they offered to switch it over, but I just took that opportunity to use the one more snack credit.

As far as the Coral Reef, this was my second time there and I've loved both experiences. The first time was dinner, this time lunch, and the main difference I found was that lunch is MUCH quieter. I couldn't get a dinner reservation at all for the week but they had lunch availability every day. And it's probably my imagination, but I think my Chocolate Wave actually tasted better this time (if that's possible).
