DDP & renting points

We will be staying at SSR the end of this month & we are renting points. Is there a way to purchase the dining plan by staying this way?

Yes. Ask the person you are renting points through to add the dining plan onto your reservation.

No. As Paulh said, it has to be for the entire length of your stay, which is a standard DDP rule.

The only differences with DVC are 1) you don't pre-pay, you pay at checkin; and 2) you don't have to buy park tickets you don't need. So...if you are going to need park tickets, you can save a little by ordering them from a discount site rather than paying Disney direct.
