HI want to stay on site next holiday and use the free DDP never done this before so have a question. If I purchase the QSDP can I use it for a couple of character dinning ?? I realise then I would be "short" for a few days also.

I am trying to decide between QS or table plan??? I am swaying towards Table service and paying extra because we like Princess Character dining and DD would want to do Belle and cinderella castles dining plus askerhus and park fare, DH loves Planet Hollywood, Y&Y and DS wants to go the Ohoan show so thinking all these meals are more than QS!!!:rotfl:

Hi QSDP gives you two QS takeaway style meals per night of your stay. You can't use the credits for character meals.

The DDP gives you 1 QS meal and 1 TS (table service meal) eg a buffet, character meal or sit down waiter served meal a night.

The credits are all loaded on to your card at check in to use how you want eg somedays 3 meals, or use 2TS credits togther for a signature meal or a show.

We've done ddp twice and used to it's full it's alot of food.

Whilst QS is not just burgers it's meals you collect at a counter, paper plates, plastic cutlery etc - personally I wouldn't fancy 2 weeks of this. BUT some people love it as there is no need to make any reservations.

To use ddp to it's full you need to make adr's (reservations) for the popular meals like character meals.

There is a link in my signature to how we used ddp in 2010 - 2 adults and a 4 year old so lots of character meals and themed meals like sci fi.

All the meals you mention would be TS (table service) credits. Sounds like that would be the best plan for you.

If you book a deluxe resort with disney uk they include free ddp for many dates.

NO your right I couldnt face 2 weeks of papaer plates....Thanks my mind made up Im upgrading

personally we much prefer the ease of the QSDP. Don't be put off by the 'paper plates' quote...You really can have wonderful meals that are not burgers and fries. The next dining plan with the one TS a day on it, while lots of people prefer this one, is not for us. It all comes down to having to plan your whole holiday for everyday months in advance...I know for us that we decide on a daily basis where we are going the next day. So having to be somewhere because we have an ADR for a certain time is just not going to work. I just think it takes far too much 'park time' away from us. We generally do the QSDP for 21days and its great tobe able to just walk into a restaurant and sit down and eat whenever we feel like it instead of at a specified time that you booked months in advance for something that you might not fancy on the day or even be hungry for. Just thought I'd put that side across that whats suits some maynot be for others and you really need to decide what your touring style is.:)
Plus for us we see a WDW holiday as the parks and we don't plan the parks around where we want to eat...

If you do want ddp check the price of ssr/okw which includes ddp v booking a moderate and upgrading to ddp.

I know sometimes it can be cheaper to book the dearer accomodation (does that make sense!)

We're staying at Coronado Springs in October but upgraded to the DDP, as that worked out cheaper at the time. But, like you, we looked at the menus and decided that TS meals were more our thing! :goodvibes
