We have the plan for our trip and as its nearly ADR time I have a few questions.

Do we have to make TS ressies for every day or are there walk up TS restaurants?

Are there places more likely to be easier to get a walk up table ?

Can we use a TS credit for a CS meal ?

I know from past experience that we slow up in our eating later in the holiday.

Thanks :)

I think you will be able to get a walk up in some restaurants as you aren't going in the peak season. When we went in sept 08 we were able to book some TS in the park the day we wanted to. Also when we were there they were advertising that you could swap a ts for cs and also get something free, can't remember what though. They don't always offer this though.

I know what you mean about slowing down with the eating, what we do is go to a couple of dinner shows, like the hoop de doo, as they use 2 TS credits.

No, you can't use a TS credit for a CS meal.

you can.you can downgrade a TS to a CS, but why would you want to? if you dont want to do the TS then go for the QSDP, if you need to use up TS (as we did) then you can speak to guest services, it is not a problem...

my advice would be make adrs, if you are going at a quiet time then you may be able tto do walk ups, however if you are going for the "wanted" restaurants lecellier, CRT CP CM etc, then a walk up is unlikely, or you ll get walk ups at wierd times..
also if you fan the F! (fantasmic) packsage then you ll need to pre book.
can i suggest you have a look at the restaurant boards and check out what is going on?

general concensus is that you may downgrade a TS to a cs, you can also on occasions convert a CS to snacks, though this is rarer.
we changed TS to CS and had no problem, they are saving money (a ts av cost is much higher than the av cost for a cs, so makes economic sense for disney to allow 1-1 exchange

Even at holiday times some places are still available for walk up. Xmas 2008 we ate at Boma, only booked it a few hours before we ate while we were in HS. We were told just about every park restaurant was full but in the resorts plenty of availability. Boma was a lot quieter than we expected for Xmas time. We also ate at Trails End that trip without an ADR.
Saying that I would book as many as you possibly can, if you wanted to eat at places like Le Cellier etc probably little chance with walk up. You can always cancel some thru your holiday, just call at any guest services and let them know.

Thanks,I am planning on making ADR's for most days but as i say we do tend to slow down.

Knowing we can nip into Cosmic Rays for fries and chicken is cool.

We are going to do some character meals so they will count as two right ?

I've heard of people trying to do this and being told they can't. Maybe some CMs allow it but some definitely don't.

This is true.

This has definitely been much discussed, particularly on the main dining boards in the latter part of last year. As you say, some are told yes and others told no. It would seem to be, as you mentioned, depends who you speak to and where you are.

So I guess the answer is yes and no. ;)

Sorry,another Question.....and this is a doozy !! lol

Does the plan start on the day we arrive,so even if we dont book in till say 7pm we will still have snack,qs and ts credit for that day ??

And is it the same for the day we check out ?

Dont worry if you cant help,I wrote the Questions,I re-read the Question and I dont think even I understand the question...God...I really am stooopid

Your dining plan is added to your room key as soon as you check in. You can use it immediately from check in so if you wanted to make a ressie for your arrival day/night, you could use your credits for this.

All credits expire at midnight on check out day, at which point you are probably going to be in the air somewhere. So even once you have checked out or your resort, you can continue using the credits til midnight if you are still there.

A suggestion: if you realise a few days near the end that you have too many credits left to use, try and sort out getting rid of them on things you can bring back with you BEFORE the last day. No matter how well you plan, check out day tends to be a mad "let's do one last ....." and I find it quite chaotic, no matter how well planned I am. :rotfl2:

Your question is crystal clear and no, you are not stupid; if you only knew how confusing it can be and how many ask the same question you would feel delightfully intelligent by comparison ;)

Thanks 2Tiggies...we are staying at WL and I might try and book WCC for our arrival.

DS doesnt know we are staying there...Im sooooo excited !!

Did you get your ADRs done ?

Remember credits are per Night but can be used from check in till midnight on check out day.

Ok....more Questions !!

I would prefer to call to make them,I know everyone says online is easy but I like the someone to tell me every thing is ok !!

But am I right in thinking the online opens earlier ?

Will this make it less likely I will get what I want ?

What time (UK) can I phone ?

and....if I do decide to go all Brave Heart and do it online how do I get my reservation number ?

Sorry again to be a pest.:flower3:

Online only opens an hour earlier so if you phone at 12 noon you should still get what you want - there are a lot less problems now we are back to 180 days.

If you book online you get your numbers once you 'check out' they are also emailed to you :goodvibes

Some ressies are only available by phone - Fantasmic! is one and Wishes Dessert party is another. Not sure of the rest.

Thank you :)
