When we booked, we ending up doing a split stay, same resort (long story) with the DDP. I was wondering if we can upgrade to deluxe for one of our reservations, seeing as we have 2. Thanks for all responses!!
You will need to get tickets with both reservations if you want to do the dining plan for both unless you have APs, DVC, or military. If this is for free dining then you will need a 2 day MYW for everyone on the reservation. It may be cheaper to do a DP on just one and payy oop for the rest. Remember, you can use credits until midnight on your check out day. If you are getting tickets/exempt, then i would say give the DxDP a try. Plan for your signature/show/castle meals during the deluxe part of your trip. It can be a lot of food if you don't plan right.

If you have 2 separate reservations you should be able to book different dining plans for each one. The dining credits for the first res will expire on midnight of the day that package ends. Just remember unless you are DVC or on an AP package, they will each have ticket requirements.
Then definitely! We did the same thing last year - we had our first ressie through Disney, package with tickets and DLX DP, then rented points for 2nd half of trip. (Now we are DVC). If you didnt rent points you'd have to buy tickets for each portion of trip, which makes it less cost effective. But you definitely can, we got Dlx DP for first part, regular for 2nd. Just make sure you allot the credits properly with your ressies so you will use all the credits from the 1st reservation before moving on to the 2nd.
