Hi,
I have a 5 night ressie at BCV with the regular DDP. I would like to change it to Deluxe DDP for the 1st 3 nights.
Can I do this without the possiblity of losing my room ressie?
Thanks
BTW...didn't pay for DDP yet

You would need to have MS split the reservation in to two segments. They will only do this if there is availability. If you do this, you will have to pay for the dining plans when the change is made.

which was great since this will actually be my first trip home I credit all the more experienced DVC members who have guided me along the wayYou would need to have MS split the reservation in to two segments. They will only do this if there is availability.
Mine worked out fine, though I'm still not sure (and I forgot to ask the supervisor) what time the credits start on the first morning I have the dining plan.
I'm pretty sure you can't have multiple types of DDP on one reservation. I think you'll need to keep the same DDP or DxDDP unless you have two reservations.

Actually, it's a little more subtle than that. I spoke to a supervisor today, and was told that if the reservation was made before the dining system "upgrade" on October 11, then they have a way of splitting the reservation so that you don't risk losing the reservation and there doesn't need to be current availability. (I'd ask for a supervisor if this is the case, to make sure it's done right.) If you made the original reservation after October 11 (like I did), then splitting it afterward is more like a cancel and rebook, though I kept the same reservation number. I purposely called at an off-peak time to minimize my chances of losing it.

This is great news

Your dining credits will begin at "check-in" for each segment and continue on until midnight the day of checkout. (I am a dine agent...)
