DDP question...does everyone in party have to do DDP

I know that normally the answer to this is "yes"...everyone has to either be on the DDP or not on it. However, for our upcoming trip we booked 2 rooms. Can the people in 1 room be on the DDP and the people in the other room not be on it? We have 2 separate confirmation #'s but the reservations are linked for connecting rooms. (we have three 11-13 year olds who surely don't eat like adults--they prefer kids meals so DDP doesn't make sense for them) Would love to hear if anyone knows the answer to this or has done it!

If you have 2 confirmation numbers I'd assume one adult is on each of those rooms? Does one of the adults not want to be on the DDP? Sounds like it'd just be easier to go out of pocket.

Can you do one confirmation DDP and the other not? Yes.

Technically if what you want is the adults on the plan and the kids not on the plan, you'd have to register one adult over 18 in each room, so since all the kids are dining adults you'd need to have 1 parent and 1 child in the room on the DDP and 1 parent and 2 children in the room not on DDP, and both parents just eat the DDP meals.

If you're going to do a lot of buffets, all you can eat family style, or fixed price restaurants (this includes all character meals) you should probably consider getting the dining plan for everyone, as the kids will all pay the full adult price for those no matter how much they eat.
