Forgive the length - I'm sort of thinking our loud.
Background: The last time we did an "all out" trip to Disney in 2007, we used the DDP, loved it. DS was a "child", so very cost effective
Next trip: July 2009 - Obsessive me trying to figure out (based on PURE speculation about next year's prices) if DDP will work again for us. I've looked at all the restaurants where we would eat, speculated menu choices (I know, completely obsessive), calculated costs, figured tips, etc.
Dilemma: DS will be a Disney "adult" next year. If DDP prices go up above 45.99, even if they add the tip back in (which I surely hope they do), the DDP is no longer cost effective. BUT... I love the psychology of having everything paid for in advance and not having to watch DH have a mini stroke every time the bill arrives or having him tell the kids they can't have dessert or a snack b/c it's too expensive.
Question: SO...Can I simply put $1500 on a Disney gift card and use it to pay for all our dining at the places we would eat if we WERE on the DDP? It's not about the money; it's about the psychology. Am I crazy?
I should just cool my jets and wait until the '09 packages come out, but....alas, I'm not that patient when it comes to planning for Disney.
TIA
