We are going in June for 2 weeks. I have always gotten the regular DDP for my family of four (2 adults/2 children). This year, my DD will have turned 11 but is small (only 59lbs) and eats like a bird and we will have an infant (1 yr old) with us. Was thinking of doing the QS meal plan as I can't see paying for an adult for my 11 yr old but read that they eliminated one of the snack credits.

So, should I skip the DDP altogether and maybe just rely on TIW or do the DDP and order for the infant where I can in place of the 11 year old and then just order more food if necessary?

Help? :confused3

I think I would keep DDP. It might be hard to eat counter service for 2 weeks. We have the free QSDP for a week, but anymore than that would be hard for me. I would do a lot of buffets for the TS.

I'd go with the TIW, but then I stopped using DDP in 2008.

TiW gives most people the most savings. It would also give you the flexibility to order anything you want, however big or small, and still save.
The DDP seldom makes sense if you have young "Disney adults" who don't eat like adults.

There was one past trip where I had both the DDP and TIW. To me, the TIW is almost a wash as it covers the tip. Our family does tend to do at least one sit down meal per day and a few Signature dining restaurants. I guess if I get a list of the ADRs from my DH and sit and figure out what the cost would be, is the only way to truly know if you save anything. Then again, I always thought that we ordered food on the DDP to just to order it because "it came with it..." and in some cases went to waste.

Thanks for the thoughts!

My DD is only 8 will be 9 on our next trip, but I have decided that once she is a Disney Adult I will not do the DDP. The only way that I would is if we were doing alot of buffets where we didn't have an option of ordering from the kids menu. If you keep the DDP I would assume that there would be enough for the 1 yr old to eat from what is being ordered an nothing additional would be needed. The best thing to do is come up with a plan as to where you think you would eat and what you would order and see how it works out. It is unfortunate that you really lose the value (if there is any) on the DDP if you don't do desserts as many times you really just don't want it. Several times they would insist we take something to have for later and then it ended up getting wasted. There are actually some QSDP options that really aren't that bad (besides HS of course), but I would think if DD ordered from the adult QS menu then there would still be enough food for the 1 yr old.
