Actually, whether or not you get anything out of pocket, there will be at least two slips of paper, if not 3, 4 or more. The accounting system they're using somehow requires reams of receipts and multiples of everything. When we were there a week ago, the smallest number of receipts we were presented with was 3 slips. And every restaurant seems to keep different quantities, too: some places told us 2 of the 3 or 4 were our copies, some gave us one copy, one place gave us 4 receipts!
So yes, they'll give you multiple copies. And it will even make sense...most of the time.
There are lots of slips, but the servers are great about explaining everything to you. It sounds overwhelming now, but when you're there it's really easy to handle.
I always figured gratuity for everything and put one lump sum on a single receipt. You hand your card and signed slips to the servers, they disappear and make magic happen so you're paid in full.

I was hoping to do this as well. Do I just tell the server I was to put the whole tip on the receipt with the appy/drinks, that way they know they didn't get stiffed? If I do that, do I write anything in the space on the DDP receipt?
