DDP for special needs child?

My family of 5 is going to Disney in February and are weighing if the DDP is right for us. Our daughter, 9, has a very limited diet and to be honest, getting the DDP wouldn't be worth it for her. Can we pay OOP for her when we do find something she can have? Or do we have to get the dining plan for every member of the party?

Also, does anyone know if the restaurants will purée an item off the menu?

Thanks,

Gwen

You may need to call Disney specifically to ask your question. The general policy is that every single person in your reservation must have the same package additions, such as DDP and tickets. Have a great trip!

You will need to get the dining plan for all members of your party. And, since she is only 9, she would be on the childs plan which would only allow the credits to be used for kids meals. This often comes up on the DISabilities board and, in all my time here, I may have heard of one exception being made.

As for the second question about pureeing... do you mean something that the restaurant already has on hand? Then most likely yes.
