My family and I are staying at Beach Club Resort in May 18. We are patiently waiting to be able to use the DDP for mobile ordering at the many QS restaurant's but this hasn't happened yet. Beginning to think I'm being disadvantaged.

Does anyone else have an opinion.

Many thanks

You can use mobile ordering with the dining plan at BOG, but other than that, no - you’re right & I think it’s a pain, too.

We don't use the DDP anymore but I'm kind of bummed that any mobile ordering we do next week will be an individual credit card charge instead of being charged to the room. It's not a deal breaker or anything, just how things have worked in the past. I like being able to get that printout at the end of the week and see everything combined. Plus we usually have a few disney gift cards that I put against those charges at the end of the week. Oh well.

However, if we were planning to use the DDP I would be really irritated about this.

It would be nice if you could use DDP credits for mobile ordering, but you're no worse off than before they implemented it. It isn't hurting the DDP ordering experience that others can use mobile ordering (and could mean your line is a little shorter).

If they ever do make it available for DDP users, it will no longer be the advantage it is now since so many people would be using it, the lines would just move from the order counter to the pick up counter.

This is what I think also. Having it be for non-ddp people makes the order line shorter for those on the DDP. Once it's available for everyone, theres's still long lines- just on pickup now instead of order.

I agree with you. This should be opened up to DDP as an advantage of having the plan

I'm from the UK and the DDP came as part of the booking at no extra charge. That's why I asked the question. If I was paying for it I would be extremely annoyed.
If you feel disadvantaged, drop the DDP. No one is forcing you to purchase a dining plan and if it's going to be an inconvenience why buy it?

I'm often on the ddp but it doesn't bother me one way or the other. We typically eat at off hours anyways when there is no line to order food.

I imagine if they open the DDP up to mobile ordering, it will be faster to use the regular line. A lot of people have trouble understanding what they can get with the DDP as it is, I think mobile ordering would make it worse and more time consuming. That is not meant to be an insult to the OP or anyone else.

Well, those of us with food allergies can't use it at this point anyway. So we're doubly "disadvantaged" if you insist on using that term.

Now if they would just add gift cards as a payment option, that would be great!

I buy the discounted gift cards for our food and shopping, so I don't normally use a credit card to purchase our meals.

Here is my thought on the whole thing. The mobile ordering is really new. They are trying it out with the most simplified format to see how it works and get feedback. They also have to make some changes to how the kitchen and counter areas work to implement this. They don't want everyone using it yet. By only allowing people to pay with a credit card, they can limit how many people are using it for now. If it works well, they will eventually expand it to allow the dining plan, gift cards, and charging to the room. Likely, the QS service locations will one day have larger areas for mobile orders and smaller areas for walk up orders. I would also think that mobile ordering with the dining plan would ease confusion because it would likely show you the options that come with your plan, making it easier to see what you can order.

Be patient. They are not trying to exclude anyone. They are trying out a new system. Look at it this way - the people using the mobile ordering system will not be taking up space in the regular checkout lines. :)

I understand what you are saying however there are a few variables to consider, tips and tidbits, 1- If everyone on the DDP started using mobile ordering, there would be no benefit to saving time waiting in line since most everyone would use it via the MDE app, 2- even as a regular guest not using the DDP, you still have to add a card to mobile order, not a big deal but that is another method that they keep people from using it since most everyone wants room charges, 3- just eat at off times when wait times aren't as long, 4- drop the DDP if you feel like you would use mobile ordering a lot and not utilize all your credits and 5- not a ton of restaurants accept mobile ordering so chances are it may not even effect you. I have watched the vlogs on this topic and a lot of the guys on DIS don't necessarily think mobile ordering will ever come for DDP users.
